I believe it's 20% of homeowners can be under 55. Most of the people this discussion is about can't even afford a car much less a home. We could have 100,000 of people under 55 since they're not homeowners but freeloaders. That's the problem. They have nothing at stake. Just like watching the Super Bowl and neither team is yours, you'll just get drunk and want to have a good time. No need to grow up as long as mommy and daddy will keep bailing your out in more ways than one.

What a terrible way to label every non-owner resident. Including those who are here taking care of their aging parent.

It's up to 20% of the homes can be owned by someone under 55. Percentage of population could actually go higher.

Not everyone knew that going in. And now there is a lot of resentment and anger because of it.

I can't be the only one who's seen a lot of news articles about 55+ residents arrested for DUI or drunk in public. Addiction affects all age groups.

Yep. :ohdear:

I'm still waiting for one of those who claim this guy is a freeloader on his parents and not an actual homeowner...to at least provide some type of proof.

I'll be waiting.

Proof, go read the unfiltered news with mug shots in the Villages online news website. You'll find for every 39 year that the police responds to, usually involves a story that includes some 70 year old that they have stolen from, mistreated, hit, took a car from, fought with, etc. Those are what's called freeloaders, those are the ones of which I speak.

What does that have to do with the person...who is the subject of this thread?

I'm not saying that he's not living with his parents, I'm simply saying that I'm still waiting for some type of proof...that he doesn't own here.

I haven't seen any evidence that the person referred to in the original post ever caused harm to a single other person. Is he a bad apple simply because he is under 55 and living in TV?

Every week we read of TV residents arrested for DUI. What kind of apples are they?

manaboutown 05-20-2018 02:59 PM

Perhaps some apples go bad in less time than it takes others to do so.

It would be revealing to see the statistics, on a per capita basis, comparing DUIs, drug overdoses, crimes committed and so on of the loser middle aged adult children living back home with their parents because they have been unable to make it on their own to those same incidents ascribable to the 55 and over who have made their own way in life and are home owning residents of The Villages.

John, for a person of your level headed, wise status to come up with a diagnosis as you have makes me happier than a Clam at High Tide. Excellent. I feel exactly the same way but could never put it as clearly as you. Thanks.
