That is the same village as the villa's the OP referenced. Sometimes second hand information is a little off.

Gracie that brings back memories from when my mom was alive a few years ago. Her home care provider took her debit card and used it for almost a year totaling thousands of dollars. We need to keep our valuables hidden from sight or locked up in a safe.

I think you are right about this being the incident referenced in the OP.

Terrible about what some people will do, isn't it?

Not wise to have $38,000 in jewelry and collectible coins in the house, though. They should have been in a safe deposit box but that sure is no excuse for the theft. Book 'em, Danno.

No, it's a separate incident. See page C4 of todays Daily Sun which references a possible burglary in Barrineau Villas where there is missing jewelry valued at $6,800.

But no forced entry.

Where's the safe?

No forced entrance and $6,880 worth of jewelry at home? Did they leave the garage door open; front or patio door unlocked ; or what?

I do not think I would lke to try and explain that to the insurance company.

The simplest way to stop sliders from being lifted is to just put in some self tapping metal screws in the top of the track.

If you don’t want to use the self tapping screws your have to drill a pilot hole first.

Then put a screw, just leaving the head extended enough so that the door cannot be moved up.

They will just be high enough, so that the door slides back and forth but cannot be lifted.
