Default Any Costco Confirmation?

There was a rumor posted here 6-8 weeks ago regarding a new Costco store. The poster said the new store would be on the property on the south side of Route 44, east of the Sparr home improvement store, on the same site as the often-failed restaurant there.

Has there been any real confirmation of the Costco rumor?

Well, the rumored location is wrong.

In the recent past, Wildwood has approved the development of the parcel with the restaurant and the empty parcel east of it. Each of them will be developed with small retail/commercial businesses - no Costco in those locations.

It would be great to have a Costco, as Sam's is so crowded. Competition is always good.

Cool

There are numerous Costco's in the Orlando area... It's a short 45 minute drive to get there and there are a ton of other things to do, while you're there.

Most people only go to Sam's or Costco about once a month, so just take a road trip once in a while.

Oh yeah, there is also a multitude of Home Good stores there too.

We don't need everything here...

Well personally I don't like the drive or traffic going to Orlando. Sams could use the competition and we could use the better quality Costco offers. It seems many people want Costco here including myself. Time will tell. I wouldn't even mind it if they put it towards Ocala anything to keep me from having to make the drive to Orlando.

There is probably an Apple store near the Orlando location (sic)!

There was also a Costco job ad for The Villages about 4-5 months ago. Anyone ever hear the outcome of that?

If not in the villages, close to intersection of 44 & I75 would get lots of traffic access and is only 4 miles from the south end of TV.

Did someone say that Villagers only go to sam's once a month? Twice a week would be more accurate , and I for one would love to have a COSTCO here .....Its an outstanding organization and would be a great addition to our area.....

I know they are opening one in Wesley Chapel later this year.
Right off I75 around S.R. 56 but that's almost an hour from here.
I would be surprised to see a Costco here.

I send Costco an email every month requesting a store closer. Go to their website and make a request. May be p*ssing in the wind. But it can't hurt.

TJMaxx tells me a HomeGoods store is confirmed on 44 near Brownwood. So I guess anything is possible.

We have been very turned off by Sam's. Each time we go we experience a weird problem. Today we drove to Costco and it is a breath of fresh air. Well run, better products and service. They couldn't build one here fast enough to please us. But we will be patient. No other choice really!

Doesn't look like any Costco in the near future.
