World of Beer. But it's cold. I haven't found anyplace that serves it at the correct temperature.

I was disappointed during my last trip to England to find that they are also serving Guinness cold. In fact at one place in Liverpool they served it from a can and placed it on some kind of device that supposedly activated the nitrogen or some such nonsense. I did find one pub in Liverpool called The Beehive that poured it at 53 degrees F.

But here, it's World of Beer. Don't waste your time at Miller's Ale House. In spite of the name it's no different from Gator's Dockside or any of the other restaurants in and around The Villages.

I can't help you find the perfect pint....but if you happen upon it, please let the rest of us know here :)

Personally I'm hoping Sawgrass comes thru for us!

World of Beer is the closest I have found, but are there any other places inside or outside the bubble serving Guinness like it is supposed to be served?

I actually have a home kegerator setup here with N2 and CO2 feeds to a gas blender that produces the best Guinness pour yet, but I want to GO OUT and have something at least as good as I can make at home. Being a Guinness fan myself and having traveled to Ireland many times, I can only tell you that the Guinness they serve here is a poor substitute. So if you want real Guinness get on a plane and take a trip to Ireland. If not I believe Palmer CC has it on tap, or at least they use to.

I was told by the barkeep at the Toasted Head in Dublin that Guinness regularly makes the rounds of the pubs serving their product to ensure it is being properly served. Supposedly, if not, they can yank the product out. I did notice a difference between Guinness sold in Ireland and that in England. We won't even discuss what it's like here in the US.

I drink one Guinness with my dinner every night, after a trip to Ireland at the Guinness Factory I was hooked. I’ve never had a bad Guinness at the restaurants or bars that serve it. Just so you know, once a year Publix has buy one case,’ bottles’ get one free, and I buy 8 cases. 😀

I love Guinness too. Miller’s Ale House is pretty good. At home, I drink Guinness Extra Stout in the bottle.:bigbow:

Nolan’s Irish Pub in Cocoa Beach knows how to pour one.

Carlsondm 03-21-2021 09:47 AM

Many of the bars carry it, but we go to the WOB or the Sunny Pint. Edna’s did not have it when we last checked.

:coolsmiley: HaHaHa! I know Johnnie Nolan and John Nolan VERY well! I have a house in Merritt Island as well as The Villages (and yes, I DO have a Guinness kegerator with N2 and CO2/blender set up there as well) and have been a Nolan's for many years. Johnnie gave me some little things for my kegerator setup here in The Villages, actually. You will ALWAYS have a perfect Guinness poured there with zero exceptions. In fact, it is the standard of which I compare all Guinness pours!

I agree that The Villages (and surrounding areas apparently) needs an Irish bar or pub somewhere to appease those of us who regard a proper pour as an important part of our lives! Personally, I don't drink any other beer/ale/liquor except for a rare occasional red wine maybe. That's why I call myself a 'Guinness snob'.

If you ever get to Nolan's again, mention to any of the staff there (Johnnie, Murph, Mary et. al) that you spoke with 'Steve' on a forum at The Villages!

Myself? I love guiness. But not around here. I just have not looked. My wife and i visit ireland, my grand parents are from Kilkenny and i have friends there.

I much prefer the Guinness Extra Stout in the beige labeled smaller ( 11.2 oz)bottles then any draft Guinness around here.

zendog3 03-21-2021 11:04 AM

guinness not a snob

If you like Guinness, you are not a snob. If you want to become a beer snob, go to The World of Beer Brownwood at about 2:00 pm on Tuesday. The Beer Buddies of Brownwood meet there. To join, you need to buy the official Beer Buddies of Brownwood T-shirt. Some of the members have more than 1000 unique beers in their resume'. Our jointly authored novel, Murder of a Beer Buddy will be coming out soon. You'll meet the characters, Bud Schwitzer, Amber Bock, Stella R Troy, lawyer Porter Stout, and FBI agent Oscar Blue. Unfortunately, the group has been mostly dormant during the the epidemic, but should be coming back now that most of the members get their shots.

We're waiting for McGradys Pub to open in Sawgrass Market.
Edna's has it in cans with the N2.
