City Fire in Lake Sumter landing usually has a party with dancing, dinner and casino night. Food is iffy but can be a fun night.
|
Waterfront Inn would have the most traditional NYE dressy event. It ends at 12:30. Also the Hilton near the mall in Ocala usually does a big NYE event.
|
The village curfew means the roads are closed after 9 would have to go to a hotel.

Hey Sail33, could I take it your a Sailor??

Being snowbirds, we always have been in Michigan for the Christmas holidays and New Years. So we had no idea of what activities happened in The Villages squares for New Years Eve but had assumed there would be some good times based on the activities there for the other holidays. Our daughter and son-in-law decided to come down early 2 years ago and stayed at our home over the holidays. They went to the squares for New Years Eve and were shocked when the band stopped playing at 9:00 pm and everyone just went home. Ever since, they have teased us about the sidewalks being rolled up at 9 in The Villages, even on New Years Eve.

I am not a Navy type sailor. I was a competition racing sailboat captain.
Before Covid, there were a few individuals (former entertainers) that reserved a Rec Center and had a catered dinner with dancing till Midnight. They were themed, had party favors, table decorations and photo backdrops. They had DJ music and Singers. Also 4 of the Large Rec Centers had bands in 4 genres play from 8-12 with BYOB. I have not seen anything about them doing that this year. I do see that the BUZZKATZ are playing at a hotel in Winter Park but tickets are $200 each and the hotel room is $375. |
Also all my Social Clubs are lacking in the "party" category. They like strummers and hula dancers type thing.
I am sure the Paisanos Club is going to have a great Party. (I am not Italian). |
New Years Eve
We attend Ralph DiNomes party every year. His band provides the music, and is a catered dinner. BYOB. Good time.

They roll up the sidewalks at 9:00 pm.
