The Villages is definitely safe to go walking at the very early hours of the day. Wear a reflective vest for safety! Use common sense and carry a can of wasp spray in the unlikely event of trouble from a person or animal. There have been bear sightings and coyote sightings (yes, cougars around Katie Belle's).

We live in an area about ten years old. It is mature and quiet in our 'hood. I'm certainly not recommending it to others, but I feel quite safe when I walk late at night. Of course, I take my 70 lb dog and my pistol. (Just kidding about the pistol). It's very quiet and peaceful ... I rarely see another human, everyone is tucked into bed.

I have seen coyotes, foxes, bunnies and feral cats on the golf course in back of our house. The only creatures I'm wary of are gators. They seem grouchy and unpredictable to me. Coyotes are usually shy unless you get between mom and her cubs.

The Bubble is definitely a morning community, with many exercise classes happening at (yikes) 7 AM in the morning. :mornincoffee: I do enjoy my late night walks when all the houses are dark and everyone is tucked into bed. And it's fun to visit TOTV in the middle of the night to check which of my fellow night owls are logged on.

I wish we lived closer together, Bare. Late night walks with Crosby are the bomb. I'd love to have the company of you and doggies.

It's 1:30 AM. The Main Page shows there are 419 people logged on ... 30 members and 389 guests.
It seems odd there are 389 guests logged on.

Wow.. it's really good to see other night owls! Feels lonely until you realize others are also awake.... Love it! I do early mornings if I have to but it's painful! I'm still working but when I'm retired I hope to try to work on the body clock...but if I can't so be it! :pepper2:

Early mornings are painful for me also. :mornincoffee: And I've had no success changing my Circadian Rhythm. I'm almost always up early, but I actually start functioning properly about noon.

Janice, you're going to love retirement. I haven't set an alarm clock in years.

I only get about 4-5 hours of sleep a night. I take ambien every other night like candy but it does no gud. Would sure like to get a full nights sleep once in a while to see what it feels like.

JaniceOhio 03-17-2014 01:43 AM

Hey Barefoot and K2at...nice to meet you.. Because of the peace and quiet I work this late. Normally just me, CNN and sometimes FaceBook so this is nice! I could have retired after this year... but I bought in Gilchrist (greatest decision I ever made) so I have to work a bit longer.. Retirement sounds so wonderful...

People were telling me that I belonged in TV before I knew what TV were... It's nice when you know where you belong.. I'm a career coach and have seen many who never figure it out..

Please talk to your doctor. Taking Ambien every other night like candy is not recommended, especially since you say it does no good anyway. Perhaps your doctor will recommend something else.

There are some people--like myself--who are always logged on. I'm too lazy to enter the info every time I check out TOTV (several times a day), so I never log off. I would show up as being up 24 hours a day!

Hi CFrance! ! I'm a fam member of Bernard Baruch by marriage. I have wedding gifts from his sister (to my aunt) in my house. Great quote and feels nice whenever I see it!
