I tried the pumice stone and it did not touch those dark brown stains by my front door.

I'll ask my sons.....when you do 500 inspections a year in The Villages you forget easily. This was about 3 weeks ago. It was definitely in the Osceola Hills/Pine Hills area but I do not remember what street. My sons may remember. Sorry! I will ask today and post back. Of course I'll be there today and might even see it....

352-397-6996 Robert's Driveway. His wife gives him support but he is a very temperamental artist. Great job. I wouldn't have had the driveway and garage done but wanted to cover up the paint job that came with the house. Highly recommended. Doesn't want a nickel until he is finished and your happy with his work.

Is this the husband and wife team Frank spoke of? Thanks to you too, Nucky.

EDIT: Just realized the name of the company of the husband and wife team mentioned above is not "Robert's Driveway".

I'm glad to have a couple of companies to call.

Actually, I drove right by it today....It is in the 900 block section of Vaughn Way, just off of Dewitt Circle. You can't miss it.Hope that helps!

Why clean a driveway, does TV clean the streets-have never seen a street sweeper in our neighborhood--its concrete--not fine tile

Our driveway was getting faint mold on it, plus friends' batteries from their golf cart leaked three little spots on it.

The scrubbinng by Egner's took care of all of it. Plus it is amazing how we didn't realize it was generally dirty, other than the mold. It's quite a difference.

I have a huge circular drive + stamped concrete at my non village home - which looks good but pavers give the home feeling. I prefer pavers even if they crack. Stamped concrete can crack also. At my Village home I plan on doing pavers as soon as I decide on a reputable company.

I imagine the key to having a paver trouble free driveway is to hire a reputable company. I've been reading about too many home owners having drainage problems after pavers were installed on their driveways.

Any thoughts on how to REMOVE spots

that look like rust spots?

Have tried scrapping, various products on market, muratic acid etc.

Sounds like the same spots I have on the concrete by my front door. They are dark brownish looking.

I have to also say most of my driveway looks like it has a "mottled" look to it. It is not an even color and it doesn't look very nice to me or my husband. Someone said "don't fix what aint broke". My driveway isn't broken but I just want to make it look nicer.

In the past 2 months I have encountered 5 different folks with stamped concrete that is starting to separate from the original driveway. This work was done by different companies. Most were 7 or 8 years old. The repair was very expensive. One with a large driveway and lots of damage was a 12K fix.

So this raises some questions as I am getting ready to have my drive done. Have others had this problem? How old is your stamped concrete? Many of you seem to love the job done, but does the work last? I don't want problems in 7 or 8 years.

Pavers crack but repairs seem lower cost, stamped concrete delaminates and is very expensive to repair, as much or more then the original cost to install, and plain concrete stains. What other options are long lasting? How long does the stained design concrete option last? What are the repair costs for that option? I have seen several stained concrete driveways that are 10 years plus and still look good. But is that the normal life?

We choose to have a buck naked driveway. We get rid of iron spots with rust remover.

I have seen some beautiful driveways that are "done" and lots of unbeautiful driveways that are "done".

Sometimes Less is More.

A product called Iron Out removes spots from concrete. Muriatic acid and other products simply won't. You can buy Iron Out at Lowes, Home Depot and Ace.

Sorry for the orientation of the photo.

I believe the application you are referring to is not stamped concrete but a concrete overlay. Stamped concrete is done with a brand new slab of concrete and then stamped to make an impression. The concrete overlay is applied in a very thin layer over the existing concrete slab then color applied to it.

I was really leaning toward concrete overlay but I'm hesitant after hearing of problems in the future which may require costly repair.

I will try the Iron Out but.....I still plan to cover the driveway with something. The concrete itself is quite unsightly looking. There are blotches that are uneven all over the place and it looks very unappealing. I would leave it alone if the concrete were an even color and there were no stains.
