Default Armadillo issue?

We are seeing signs of and have seen at least two Armadillos coming out of the reserve in for the back of the neighborhood. These pests can do a lot of damage to lawns and gardens. What can be done?.

They probably submitted the same question in the 'Armadillo Times' when your house was built on their property!

You can buy an armadillo trap on Amazon.com for $47.99, with free shipping.

Maybe so, but to recover the cost of the trap, you would need to catch and eat a lot of them.

After re-reading this, it sounds like a part of a bad joke - but this IS what I was told:

I was told that the smell of dogs drives them away. Have your dog “tour” your property line and that should keep them out. If you have no dog, maybe someone in your neighborhood could load you theirs. Honest!

They will ignore your lawn if there is no food source ie: pests etc. They are pretty harmless and are nocturnal.
