These people have taken over this pool with absolutely zero consideration of others, I have called about them, zero help from the from the recreation department! any ideas rather than going to another pool? Ashland is within walking distance for us.

I believe that dogs that are not certified companion dogs are not allowed in Village pools. Dogs that bark at people in a circumstance like that are pathetic. If a dog is out of control, it is because the master is to blame. A barking dog could feel that it is protecting its territory, but the problem is that , especially with some breeds, that barking problem can turn into a biting problem.
........As far as people go.........I have seen some really bad individual behavior at a Village pool and also there are some clique groups that will gather in one area day after day and take ownership of that area. Also, I have been bothered by loud music from time to time.

Take some Mace (or make your own pepper spray) and as you walk by the dog - "accidentally spray some close to it.

Expensive proposition and closes the pool for a week.

Recreation will respond.

Use the video on your phone to prove the glass bottles and barking, aggressive dog.
.......Step 1 Ask politely
........Step 2 Get your phone out and video it. That OFTEN scares people into suddenly doing the right thing.
........Step 3 Spray pepper solution in area of dog, covertly.
........Step 4 Become friends with some retired Mafia types.
.........Step 5 Get all your women friends to put on really NASTY perfume and sit upwind from that group.
.........Step 6 Play some really nasty rap music ......loud and close by.

1) Trip over dog. Sue any and all. Especially the Villages. That will put an end to it pronto.

2) Bring your own music and play it as loud as theirs is.

Adult pools are supposed to be quiet. Sorry, you dont get to hold your own parties twice a week and infringe on my ability to enjoy the pool closest to my house. It doesnt work that way.

I go to the Ashland pool and the music starts at 2:30 - 3:00 on Wednesdays and Sundays. It starts out at a pretty low volume and as people begin to leave about 4:30 or so the volume increases a bit. People dance in the pool and overall it's a fun afternoon. I have never seen a dog barking there and that should stop but it has nothing to do with the man who brings the music. Have never heard polka music played. If you don't like it on those days jump in your golf cart and go to Bonnybrook 3 blocks away or the Lynnhaven, and Churchill pools also very close. Don't complain about something many people enjoy on those 2 afternoons for a couple of hours! Go early or someplace else and sit in silence on Wednesday and Sunday. After reading all the posts the people responding are not getting a clear picture - no one is rowdy, it's not kids doing this and it's not a boom box. It's an older gentleman, a nice guy, and the people are seniors not rowdy younger ones. The dog should go if it's barking at people and I can't imagine whose dog that is as the gentleman that plays the music does not have a dog. The person that comes by to check ID's laughs and joins in on the fun of music - MUSIC - folks! Not POLKA music all kinds of music which supplies much happiness in life. You are misrepresenting this situation - Please go somewhere else on those afternoons and don't try and ruin it for others that enjoy this!
Update about the dog: The dog is a service dog. Pete's caretaker (Pete is 99 years old) brings him over on Sunday with the dog. The dog has never barked and does lay next to the caretaker. Some people need to get a life.

Know people who live by pool and they never hear it

Amen to that and what wrong with some Polka anyways. I will bring my accordion!!

Village Community Development Districts

Residents that bring music to the neighborhood pools, are asked to please play the music at a level that they can only hear. The use of headphones or earbuds is preferred as to not disrupt other villagers that are there to enjoy the pool.
