Thumbs up Auto Hobby Shop ?

There a substantial number of individuals in TV that are interested in Automobiles and their Golf carts as a hobby, club, or a recreational activity. Given the future expansion of TV, isn't it time for the developer to consider a "Auto Hobby Shop", (similar to those we used in the military). It could certainly become just as popular as the Woodworking/Carpentry Shop! Any thoughts on the subject?

I recall an enterprise opening up in Wildwood, I think, that had space tools(?), but it was setup to work on vehicles, not necessarily storage. As for your idea, I think that would be fun, I have rebuilt 8 cars from the ground up, 7 Mustangs, and a Mazda (long story). The first step would probably be to start a club to gauge the number of people interested, and then go from there. While I would love to do another car, probably a kit car, my knees have voted NO, and currently they have a majority vote! I still have a lot of my tools and welder, but would need to rent or borrow the bigger equipment for cars.
Golf carts would be a lot of fun, there are several websites with kits to do conversions, and these are much simpler to work on. Mostly hand tools, and small jacks and jack stands. I will be watching this thread to see what develops.

I proposed this to The Villages over a year ago. They said no. Said it was too dangerous. Like the wood shop isn't. You could try again. Good luck.

I found the place I was thinking of: My Garage, 5732 C. Thomas Road, Wildwood, FL 34785, mygaragevillages.com, (352) 350-3868.

I just went to the website, and this is the place that has work shops, so if there was enough interest, and this location would allow 'group use' of a workshop area, this might be an option. I think this could still be organized as a Villages Club, with off site facilities.
Hope this helps.
