Cats should never be allowed to roam outside for their own safety but I also thought it was against TV rules to let pets go outside without a leash?

Catch in your yard in a have-a-heart trap, take it to your neighbor in the trap and tell her the next time it goes to the pound. Won't hurt the cat and I think she'll get the point.

Here in UK most all cats roam free, and clearing up is part of a gardeners life.
However, a VERY powerful water pistol is a handy tool. Does not harm the cats when it hits them, and being smarter than the average animal they soon get the message, and relocate. .....and of course there is the fun using it! |

Let your dog out next time you see the cat in your yard. The cat would either hightail it back over the fence or it could be the start of a beautiful relationship.

This is exact reason I enjoyed moving to The Villages. Unfortunately with so much crime and violence occurring throughout this country, I can come home to The Villages and read about how "displaced cat urine" is a concern... |

Well, as an owner of an extremely automated home, I would just have the sprinklers for that zone come on when the cat tripped the motion detector. It will only take 2-3 times before I never saw that cat again
On the lower tech side isn't there a cat repellent you can spread where it wi be effective? |

Scarecrow sprinkler not expensive Amazon, motion sensitive, just attach hose. Worked so well on neighbor’s cat he wouldn’t get off the fence for his favorite treats.

I agree wit h the,day from the UK. When I grew up most cats went outdoors, it was life. People also complain about geese. I guess they never went camping or enjoyed the real outdoors. It seems like such a little thing, life is sometimes messy... but what a wonderful world.

Cats that are allowed outdoors have a life expectancy of ~ one year. With proper vet care (and kept inside) many cat are living to 18 or 20+ nowadays.

There are dog people and kitty people and some are the same. That would be us. At this time we are only owned by cats.
We love the two who share our space and critique my art work. They stay safely inside with a nice big birdcage to roam too. They make our life so much softer. This is Bootsie. We want him and Mikey to live for a long time so we keep them inside. Don't blame a cat for being a cat.
