As a lady was getting out of the cart, I said, “if you pull over to one side we can both park in the shade.” Her reply was, “yes I know that, but I prefer not to.” Exact words! Since my grandson was with me I just shook my head and pull into another space.

I told my grandson that it was not a rule that carts share spaces, but just a common courtesy. Thoughts?

Very rude. I think I might have parked behind her anyway. The spaces are wide enough for her to get out.

On second thought, in Fried Green Tomatoes, two young girls steal a parking spot from Kathy Bates, mocking they were “faster and younger,” upon which Bates crashes into their car over and over and says, “Face it, girls. I’m older and I have more insurance.”

I suppose you never worked for a multi-national corporation in NYC.

I believe the OP did just that.

However, I might point out that it is still common courtesy to share a space. Has this world gone to h**l so badly that we discard manners?

If I understand it correctly, TOTV is, in part, used to vent. If I’m wrong, let me know.

You're not wrong.

Except for some folks, the only 'venting' they believe should be allowed...is toward those venting.

Cart courtesy?

[QUOTE=Mleeja;1557450]I went to Target this morning with my grandson. We saw one empty space on the end of a row that was shaded. The cart in front of me turned into the space and parked right in the middle.

Let's see, so how long have you lived here? If you have been here more than a few minutes, you have perhaps seen a lot of NON_COURTESY. It is rampant. Get on a bike and ride the Cart Multi Modal paths. You will soon see why Bike persons take to the streets with all of the associated dangers.
If you want courtesy, look it up in the Dictionary. After 11 am the Happy Hours folks are out in the open,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,be careful and do not expect anything of anyone, let it go at that. Have fun and good luck. :MOJE_whot:

Good lord, put it in neutral and move it over; no key required and it takes very little effort.

Screw/mess with someone else's cart/personal property?

Really?

I suspect you’re being sarcastic, but if not, there’s probably a law that prevents that, tempting as it is.

I honestly was under the impression the proper and acceptable way to park a golf cart here in The Villages was to pull into the spot on one side. It is only after reading this thread I'm finding out differently.

It's acceptable but not mandatory. I see bad backers every time I'm out. As we age or heads don't turn as far, some don't turn at all. As I found out when cart in the fwd spot had his wheels turned when he started to back and hit my cart due to him not looking back where he was going.

Well, born and raised in NYC. Still have a home in NYC and spend 2 wks/mon there. Currently working for a Fortune 100, have been for the last 30 yrs. Never had to “crush” anyone as I progressed through the ranks. My ability to sleep at night is worth more than a promotion.
