Smile the ball is rolling

We meet with the realtor on monday to put the house up for sale here in Deland, or as I call it, DULL-LAND. Sherry and I refuse to vegetate over here any longer and I hate waking up over here wondering what exciting things I can do today, like a trip to Wal-Mart ! We want to have fun,,,,everyday !! Five years ago, we swore we would spend our retirement in TV but boy did we get sidetracked, via North Carolina and now Deland. Did we lose our way or what ? What were we thinking ? Now we are focused on TV and nothing will change that. What is that metal that you're supposed to bury in your yard for good luck ? Is it the St. Joseph metal or statue ? I'll buy a dozen. We live in a development here in DULL-LAND where houses are selling really well so hopefully, we'll be outta here soon. We already have family and friends in TV so when we get moved, the rest of our lives will be a real hoot.

Congrats of making the decision! Hope your house sells fast and you are able to join us all in TV!

Nice cautionary tale for those of us who haven't moved yet.

Good luck with everything!

It is the St Joseph statue or in our case the Sacred Heart statue. It is at least 100 years old and we buried it three different times. We sold our first house in Holiday, FL in two months, our house in Tallahassee in 4 days, our log cabins in Bryson City, NC in 1 day and our house here in the Villages in one week. For us it has worked or something definitely worked. We tend to think it was the statue. Good luck!

Oh by the way, we got side tracked as well. We sold our house in TV in 2007, moved to Costa Rica, then to Illinois, then to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, and now we are back in TV as of April 2009, this time for good. Honestly, there is not another place to live and have fun like TV. Believe me, we know.

We buried a St Josephs Statue upside down facing the house and said a prayer that came with the statue every night.4 months later the house sold at a time when houses weren't selling that quick!!..Good luck..we'll be here waiting!!

Sorry - I get confused with screen names vs. real. We'll be around again this May and then perhaps a perm move later this year or early next.

Smile

thanks for all the replies !! We are lucky also to sell our real estate. our house and a piece of property in NC sold in 3 months when the housing market went kaput. So I'll get the St. Joseph and Sacred Heart and bury them. Russ, I introduced myself to you at LSL cause I recognized your picture and we had a nice chat. So when the house sells, I'll let ya'll know it !!
