My foursome quit on me.

Actually I was glad.

Yes. My weather radio went off this morning a little after 11 AM. They also mentioned the possibility of damaging hail.

It is the dues one pays for never shoveling again......
We'll be back down there next week....my neighbors will let me know if we have any damage. Hopefully not.

But, if the whole house goes, I'll really enjoy rebuilding it to MY standards....

Default Anyone else: no voice on phone alert?

I got a call on both my cell and landline from Sumter Red Alert few minutes ago, but no voice on my land line and a clear voice msg on my cell at the same time about taking precautionary measures. Had the same problem few months ago, reported it to COMCAST, wondering if anyone else gets the ring but no message on their land line. No rain in Tamarind Grove (yet), all seems fine here.

Gardenia - FYI - It took about 6 or 7 seconds for the message to start after I answered the phone today. Sometimes with these computerized networks there is a delay before the message starts. Since I have caller ID I knew who was calling so I just waited for the massage to start.

It is knocking on the door now. In fact just got a call on cell phone of a severe T-storm warning, potential hail. Watching the radar the purples (nasty) that existed while the storm was in gulf are turning to red/orange (less nasty) as the storm hits land.....

I'm back in MA and received two cell phone calls from the national weather bureau stating there are tornado warnings. I hope this "warning" doesn't materialize in to anything serious.

The forecast for New England calls for a snow storm this Friday with 6-12". We've gotten hammered with snow this year and I guess this will make our stay in TV next winter that much more rewarding.

Thanks for clarifying Niels, really appreciated. I got a few more calls and sure enough, I heard the msg loud and clear. Seems as if only the first one didnt get through, but now I know to WAIT. Cell phone msg was immediate, this forum is the best! It's synonimous to IM!

Default Simply wild

It is wild in Mallory at time of this post. Big wind, heavy rain.... blowing lighter things around lanaii.

Inital heavy red band on radar seems almost through..... Caly and I crawling out from under table

PS. I have yet to get any mention of tornado on any of my warnings.

Really bad wind and avalanche of rain and blew our heavy lawn furniture on lanai around.

Hope the worst is over.

I think it is better now.

For those of us who are new to Tv, when we get a warning like this (by the way, how do we get a phone alert?) where is the safest place to be in the house?
