I have used a small textile one in my bathroom since I moved in in '17. No problems. As has been noted above, it is placed on the outside of the bathtub and is washed periodically. There has no rubber backing. Even without that there is no slipping and sliding. I step directly out of the shower onto it. I then dry off; on issues. As also noted above, it dries off very quickly after having been used.

I’m not worried about mold on those rugs , but I believed in the course of the day the rugs start to become unsanitary because through normal use of bathroom . . I put down on floor the towel I used the night before on floor and that I used during the day to wash up with , keeps my floor clean and no rugs to get messy

Yep.

Also, install timers on your exhaust fans and let them run for 30 minutes.

Especially as we age, get harder to raise feet up or reach down.

Then I use a squeegee on the shower door, walls and floor. Then I dry off in the shower. After drying each foot, I step onto the rug. It stays dry. I hang up the barely wet towel so it will get as much air flow as possible. I have a fan on a timer that blows air into the shower to dry it. The exhaust fan is also on a timer. No, no problems with mold or excess humidity.
we are the same person!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
