I have some very real reasons given my daughter's biological makeup and his father's issues.

I worked hard to ensure that my daughter understood the risks of drugs and alcohol. I'll continue doing so with my grandson. It worked for her. Hopefully, the same standards will work for him.

So, for me, personally, serving beer here is bad and it just takes a restaurant I liked off the list for my grandson.

It's the right choice..children do what they see from others, but you would never convince a smoker there's any harm in smoking in front of children either...

How did a thread about beer at Johnny Rockets evolve into a thread about guns and shooting children ??
This really took a bad turn for the worse !!

This thread is about an establishment serving beer. If the conversation does not return to that topic, the thread will be closed.

I vote "No Beer". Johnny Rocket's reminds me of Arnold's on Happy Days or a Disney Restaurant.

Yeah, I had no intention of derailing the thread and really didn't expect the kind of response I got. My apologizes. I'm buying.

Good for Johnny Rocket's selling beer. If it helps their bottom line and keeps a business going and a building filled on the square, I'm all for it, especially a high visibility corner building.

I think I may have derailed the thread because my post never made it on-line. I was being silly [as usual] and asked where Johnny kept his rocket so I could save the hostages.
This may go away too. You never know.

For now, I prefer he see people having a drink with a meal, but he's not quite old enough to understand drinking while having a good time. Fortunately, my daughter is very much following the lessons I taught her.

Please understand that I am not in the least condemning JR's for serving beer. It just is bad for me. And odds are I might even stop in there for a cold one and a BLT but not with my grandson.
Good explanation, Red. At first it seemed like a condemnation of the restaurant for serving beer. But now I understand it is just a bad thing for your particular situation. Kudos to you and your pro-active approach to your daughter and grandson. You best know your personal family situation.
