You and me both, Nonie. I am on my second one and not to crazy about him either. I will give him one more chance. I have a followup appointment next week.

The specialists seem to be OK but where are they getting these primary care doctors. I have asked around and more often that not I get negatives instead of recommendations.

I have a GREAT primary physician - and he actually LISTENS to you! His name is Winston Evalle and he is located in Southern Trace in the Villages Internal Medicine and Senior Clinic, 3351 Wedgewood Lane, 352-259-0364, and he speaks ENGLISH.

I've been VERY pleased with Dr. Eburuche. She is near the Mulberry Rec Center--Just off Buena Vista. Dr. Eburuche is board certified in Internal Medicine. She is very caring and takes time to talk with you. Telephone: 352-750-6358

Like Avista, I too use Dr. Eburuche and love her. She is well educated and truly cares about her patients. She is taking new patients and as I understand it will be moving soon to the Sharon Morse Building.

The doctors mentioned above are great, if you have MEDICARE or any OPEN plan. If you are in a PPO or HMO you need to use the doctors on their list of participating doctors.
We go to Dr. Allen Schwartz who has an office in Sumter Landing near Too Jays. It took us two years to find him and he accepts our insurance. He has a nice staff as well.

I also see a cardiologist named Dr. Ramon Torres whose office is over on 441/27 near the Wal=Mart. Took me a year to find him.

The Villages does provide information on doctors and what I do is computer search to find out where they went to med school and where they did their internship/residency. If they are educated in a country that may have a lesser education level, I pass on the doc. I also pass if their residency or internship was not done in a good U.S. hospital.

Sorry, but I do insist that the doctor understands me and I understand him/her. Trust and understanding are important features in a patient/doctor relationship. I have seen that some doctors from countries where women are second class citizens, do not relate well to female patients, particularly if the doctor is male.

Just my own opinion and input. You need to evaluate all the features/aspects that are important to you and then find out if they accept your coverage. If you are under 65 as my husband and I are, and in a PPO or HMO, it is much more difficult.

Best of luck. ;D

My neighbor had a good experience at Lake Sumter Urgent Care. Is not really urgent care, but more like family practice but no appointments, just show up and wait you turn. I had pain for last 6 months from an 8 year old kidney problem. Ray Dominick and his wife Christina Proud have gotten me out of pain( I was able to go out and walk for an hour 2 times last week, first time I could do that in 3 months). Also, pharmacist at Publix said they were building quite a reputation. My wife was also impressed with her first visit.
