Default Big Ten Network fans in The Villages and Xfinity

How, in The Villages, are Big Ten network fans dealing with Xfinity choosing not to carry BTN? (I think I'm correct that BTN is not available on Xfinity). Any workarounds that have popped up?

Interesting... I was just talking to xfinity person, she said BTN was not offered there. I looked at channel listings for The Villages, and BTN not included on channel listings either. Wonder what's going on.

Xfinity carries the Big Ten Network, but you have to subscribe to the Sports Entertainment Package. It costs $10 per month, but I believe as a new subscriber to the Sports Entertainment Package you can get it at $4.99 per month for the first year. Outside of Big Ten states, Xfinity only carries the Big Ten Network on the Sports Entertainment Package.

Birdiebill is correct. I added the Sports Entertainment Package at the start of this season. One point of awareness is that if two games are scheduled at the same time on BTN, you will only get one game. The other game has to be watched through the BTN2Go app on your computer. Unfortunately for me that has occurred twice this year. I looked at BTN schedule and that won't be an issue for today's games.

I have it but never watch it. Do they play football in the Big 10 (et al)?

Earlier this year I received notice from Comcast they were dropping the Big Ten nextwork in all states except where Big Ten schools were located. The channel was dropped in Florida. It had to do with licensing fees between Comcast and the Big Ten. At the start of football season the channel magically reappeared! It is on channel 1313. The other posters are correct that you must have the sports package to get BTN.

Between Indiana and The Villages, I have been a Comcast customer for 30 years. My current package is up mid December. This may be my last....

Giving HULU a serious look to replace Xfinity and get BTN as well. Wish HULU were a better bargain, though. $55/month to get more than one device on line at a time. Does not include upgraded DVR service, either.

Directv carries 3 Big 10 channels, 610, 610-1, 610-2 all in HD. I think the Directv sports package if $5 a month, I have the premier package so it's included. You also get every regional sports channel, such as NESN, SONY, MASN, etc. There is also two SEC Channels, plus you get all the small market ESPN games, plus the ESPN-3 computer games are available on TV with the enhanced button.
