Correct
Although, as stated many times, YouTube is a revenue stream for many...including a lot of Villagers who push out content.
Idk about ‘White Envy’ and ‘DEI’ so i’ll leave that to our octogenarian resident experts. But in fairness and to your points....his ‘mission statement’ appears to be ‘mission accomplished’.....No?

How Florida's White Only Retirement Community Became A Dangerous …

https://youtu.be/6D4i9kvYHrg?si=tZs7qrzIoNT8VAwX

I watched it about 3/4 through Then fast forwarded to the end. Basically it was long and boring. He was right about one thing, in my opinion, that people drive too fast and dangerously here in TV Land. He was talking about cars, but golf carts are egually dangerous and speeding in residential neighborhoods. He followed one car and filmed his own speedometer to prove that excessive speeding was going on. I have seen Villagers involved in 3 fights in my 10 years here. One I helped break up at a basketball game. That is probably less than I have seen in mixed neighborhoods. Since coming to The Villages, I have encountered some abrasive and pushy males, which i would have probably wanted to fight with IF I was sixteen years old. I have also encountered some self-absorbed know-it-alls with superiority complexes. But, I guess those are everywhere and come in ALL ages.
.........The author of this piece seemed to want to PROVE that mixed age neighborhoods are better and safer than over 55 neighborhoods. His case could have been better made if he had actual statistics to back up his claim. But, how could you get comparable neighborhoods to make that comparison?
.........Overall, I don't think that he made a good case for showcasing the negatives of living in The Villages. I can think of some negatives that he missed. But, he did pick up on one of the top negatives.............speeding and bad aggressive driving.

Didn’t someone say the author was kidding? He just wanted to make a humorous piece, so YouTube would not delete his video? Well, I didn’t laugh. Isn’t that what every bully tries to claim?

He was driving 70mph on Buena Vista. He ran two stop signs. He drove his scooter up the Publix's front door. I feel like he shouldn't be criticizing anyone else's driving.

No, he doesn't. However, he is eminently qualified to be a debate moderator.

Sure - he was strange in his BAD driving habits. But, it is pretty much common knowledge that The Villagers have been speeding and driving badly in the last 5 years. And that is during the day when most of the drivers are sober. Also, the commercial grass manglers drive like maniacs. And I am NOT the only person that knows that golf carts are driving 30 MPH in 20 MPH zones. And ALL golf carts should be standardized at a max capability of 20 or 25 MPH. And Police should make stops until golf cart drivers get so many tickets that they pull back their governors to 20 or 25 MPH. Police should use cameras everywhere to insure compliance.

So your wish list would probably trigger a rebranding....”Florida’s friendliest (police state)hometown”! Yeah, I don’t like that jingle!:1rotfl:

Careful what you wish for. Accidents in TV are rare given the number of cars and golf carts we now have in TV.

I am not the only person in The Villages that wishes there were a standardized speed limit for golf carts of 20 to 25 MPH. The Villages is advertised as a peaceful tranquil LAW ABIDING unique place to live. Many people, not just myself, have commented that the Village IDEAL life has become LESS than ideal. 5 years ago I would notice occasional Lawn Manglers driving over the speed limits and pulling their LARGE, difficult to STOP TRAILERS. And it seemed like about 15% of the Golf Carts had their accelerator control jacked up to 30 plus MPH. Today almost 100% of the lawn manglers go 40 MPH through the posted 20 MPH SUPPOSEDLY quiet residential streets. Personally, I cut my own grass both for exercise and by reducing the number of LAWN MANGLERS, I may be saving someones life in an accident. So, this is one REASON why I would appreciate MORE Police presence in our neighborhoods.
.....Speeding is rampant in The Villages, which is strange because retired people SHOULD have plenty of time during the day to allow them to get to a destination WITHOUT speeding.
.......The Villages is NOT without crime and needs some more police. No one is suggesting we have a "police state" because that implies an OUT OF CONTROL police force. More Police are needed and I am sure there are enough retired LAWYERS in The Villages to prevent ANY police overreach.

Speeding cars and golf carts are the antithesis of the peaceful, laid back ideals of a retirement village. The hustle and bustle of the large cities and their problems are SUPPOSED to be behind us when we move to The Villages.

Why don't you write the developer and ask him to petition for a dedicated LEO presence...and when he gets the bill from the county....and buries into everybody else's 'fees'....you can say, take that LAWN MANGLERS!
