How do you feel about the guys wearing thick gold chains with an alarm clock dangling?

I choose not to live my life in fear. I'm not against guns....I just said I was proud of my jewelry.

Its not fear --its being aware of your surroundings--also risk vs reward

I think it depends if you lived your life up until now in an unsafe and dangerous place. Many of us had similar safe places as here that we moved from. We aren't stupid, we just access the situation AS IT IS and if it would become more dangerous then and only THEN we would have to be MORE careful and change our behavior. It is you and Krazorback who needs to adjust to the reality here and now of a pretty darn safe place. This isn't Orlando or Chicago or New Jersey. This is here. It may change tomorrow, but now we are the ones being realistic and you are NOT.

I don't wear my seatbelt in TV. I feel very safe. If I go to Orlando, I always buckle up.

Sounds like fun owning something so nice your afraid to wear it. As long as they were not wearing it at agency looking for assistance what's the rub? I'll bet you they could defend themselves just fine.

It is safe - to a point, but we really have some mentally unstable people here in TV, one in particular in my own quaint, little neighborhood, and we really have some bad people in the areas surrounding TV (and a lot of us do travel outside the bubble, don't we?). My wife and I don't wear a lot of "look at us" jewelry (me, just my wedding band and her, her wedding rings and an occasional necklace), but we both carry so we're not caught off-guard IF one of those bad, mentally unstable people decide to rear their ugly head and not play by the rules.

The main thing is, don't flaunt your wealth (or supposed wealth); you're setting yourselves up.

The people you feel are mentally unstable may also carry.
And they may decide that you're the one who is mentally unstable.
What then?

don't much care for pinky ring look on men. As for the price of jewelry if lost or stolen value can be all over the board. so suggest you appraise each piece by a very reputable dealer. As for heirlooms one would be better to pass down values
