I agree with Kregski, all these posts because of caps??? Nonsense!
What about the poor folks who have to "hunt and peck" in typing and don't want to be bothered doing upper and lower case??? I really don't believe that it is a big deal.
That's my 2cents.

I think there are times when it is appropriate to raise one's voice, and I'd prefer to be allowed to make that choice myself when the time comes.

I think it's good to let people know that it is considered shouting when caps are used so they understand proper etiquette, but somewhat inappropriate to tell folks they shouldn't use them. It isn't even like it really hurts your ears, but merely provides a strong emphasis.

I will reserve the right to raise my voice when I think it appropriate.

Amazing that people who use forums don't know that using upper-case is considered bad form, shouting, ill-mannered, etc. I started using email in the mid-1980's when our Company introduced it as a form of communication and even then using upper-case to communicate was considered boorish, rude, and inconsiderate...and said more about the person sending it. As time passed, more than few careers were hurt and people got the idea. Sorry for the perhaps pompous history lesson but in today's rapid paced environment it's important to know how to communicate; how be effective in communication; and what not to do. Excuse me, I think I have a tee time now... ;D

jtdraig - just for the record, email is used as an expedient when you communicating informally. Upper case, lower case or mixed cases are acceptable on the internet. Please note all the abbreviations used in posts (e.g.TV). For a fact, truly boorish people can find fault with anything when they nothing but time on their hands. Hope your caddying job goes well.

Hey Talk Host!!! Was your use of bold in your plea intentional? Kind of funny actually.

This is the silliest argument so far on TOTV BUT it is rude and crude to use Bold unless you are yelling---so there ;D
