Boomer,

Here are the cabinets and drawers in our kitchen.

There are no raised panels on the drawers. We made a slight error with the knobs on the drawers. It was suggested that we put only one, in the center. We disregarded that advise because of aesthetics, but we were wrong, there should be only one. People pull from the center with one hand.

You will also notice that we opted to have one cabinet a different color. Our pantry on the end of the kitchen is totally different, and we think it looks great. We get lots of positive comments from visitors.

I could swear that I asked no one else, other than Boomer, to read this.

TH,

Thank you.

Your kitchen is beautiful. And I now know what I needed to know. My cabinets have a raised panel on the drawers and the panel is narrow, top to bottom. That's what I think is going to dictate the handle choice more than anything else.

I don't know if I can use a smaller version on the drawers than on the doors. I am not so sure that would work. I tend to be pretty symmetrical in design choices. For instance, I always buy two chairs that match when I do a room over. My past is full of pairs of chairs. Green ones. Gold ones. White ones. Blue ones. Leather ones. Always pairs though. Matching up. Balancing. Maybe it is because I am a Libra.

When I get into a job like this I always remember how well I know what people mean when they say, "The devil is in the details."

I like your drawers better. Your design opens up the handle choices. I think my choices may be limited. That was what I was wondering about. I hope I can find a style similar to yours that will work on the panel.

Your kitchen counter, in its long shot, looks like the one I picked. You have such exquisite taste if I do say so myself.

And that thing you have done with a different color cabinet is really big in design right now. My kitchen is so little that we will have all one color. But I really like the look you have. And that pantry cabinet sure looks like it will hold a lot of stuff.

Thank you, TH. You have helped me by sharing these pictures. I am down to just one decision now, the handles. And thank you for the info about the two drawer handles. I understand how you were after symmetry, but I see what you mean.

Anyway, your kitchen is a lovely, sunny place it looks like and you really should let the rest of them have a look. (I just noticed that Mr. Tony looked, even though the title of the thread clearly said he should not. I bet Mr. Tony is afraid that I will now know for sure that you are "The Nice Administrator." Well, he should be worried.)

OK, I'm reading the forbidden thread.

Kitchen cabinets? I thought it was about nude swimming.

OH, please don't say "NUDE". You have no idea what trouble you will cause.

But Mr. Tony, it is too late for you. You were in here BEFORE I said that stuff in the other thread. You jumped the gun, Mr. Tony. I cannot help you. You, Sir, are on your own in this one. Unless maybe you show us your drawers, too.

Well, TH, I am happy with just getting to see your drawers. But Mr. Boomer is in the kitchen right now, using lots of power tools. I bet he would like to see your workshop.

Default If I had peaked at this post...

I might ask what Mrs. TH looking at on her laptop that put a nice smile on her face. I might compliment Mr. and Mrs. TH for the beautiful kitchen. I might admire the tidy, bright, roomy and spotless workshop.
