Such conversations though have become fewer and further between. We need to embrace and appreciate the light moments of connection.

I think the “point” of this thread was to add a much needed gentle, light touch to the TOTV conversations.

I would think cheesecake or cannolis (as a born and bred New Yorker) would be #1 for NY. But I do love black and whites. Nobody makes key lime pie better than Floridians.

Uh, oh. You would have to mention NY cheesecake. . .

My Brooklyn friend sent us a cheesecake from Junior’s. And, Wow! This Ohio girl has never been the same. . .

I slivered and I slivered — just that “wafer thin piece” — that’s how it went — faster than I want to confess.

I like my cheesecake straight-up, no topping, and that’s what this one was — perfect. Junior’s has it all though — for those who are not a purist, like me. :)

And now, I get that wicked catalog from Junior’s. I am so tempted to get another of those orange and white striped boxes delivered. But. . .an entire Junior’s cheesecake could too easily become my drug of choice, replacing even my dear Graeter’s ice cream.

Interesting that they used Google trend data to determine the favorite dessert of each state. Given that not many people know what Texas sheet cake is, there is a reasonable chance that it will become the 'favorite' dessert of The Villages!

I've had plenty of sheet cakes, but I never heard of something called "Texas" sheet cake. Apparently, there's a difference.

As far as history. I had, have a hobby of reading old books. Problems, issues, so much of what we think are new problems have been around for centuries.

Thought about desserts. Truth, there are far more important things. A broader view-what is for diner. Truth, need to loose at least ten pounds. I find that not eating between meal and snacks does not seem to work.

10 pounds gone sounds good to me, too. I am reading up on intermittent fasting right now. It looks like there are different ways to do it and that it does not have to be as harsh as it sounds. . .

If I suddenly start writing “hangry” posts on TOTV, it will just mean that I am giving it a try.
