I personally would stay away from the right side of the fairway from the tee box to 200 yards out. Most mi****s are slices. That said, I can tell you from personal experience that no amount of golf balls coming your way is as iritating as an inconsiderate moron(s) living directly behind you. I prefer living on a championship course because the percentage of experienced golfers is probably much higher than executive courses. I also believe that golfers are more understanding of the few down side issues of living on a golf course. Non-golfers...not so much.

I appreciate your point of view. However I have had maintenance giuys spray and wind currents were carrying the chenical to my lanai and birdgage so that I had to close my sliding doors.

We looked at quite a few golf course homes over the summer, ended up buying on water in an older village North of 466. Our last home in Raleigh was also on the water, we are very happy we are on the water again. Not sure why anyone would recommend not to buy on the water in TV...

[QUOTE=senior citizen;564827]Our choice to buy on a golf course for the privacy out back is now in question after reading about the spraying ; just wondering if the wind is blowing a certain way, does it get into the lanai or home area?

Or, is it not a concern?

Have been following "resales" on golf courses, with land enough for a pool/birdcage.

We've been told NOT to buy near water, on water or near a nature preserve, thus the below researched newspaper article, which obviously was a long time ago, as the population of The Villages hasn't been 17,000 souls in a very long time............it all gets very complicated.

Can someone answer with regard to WHO DOES THE SPRAYING and HOW MUCH SPRAYING OF THE pesticides applied to the golf courses there is???
How often do they spray?

Everyone knows they are carcinogens........but it seemed back in the late '90s they really didn't know the exact amount which was applied??????

For those concerned with healthy diets and lifestyles, one would think they'd be concerned about "spraying"..........

Thanks in advance.........also, would anyone "share" which area of TV they think is the healthiest choice, even if it's away from a golf course....meaning not close to one./QUOTE]

at least we don't have mosquitoes, a 14 year old article written when the 'locals' began to get spooked by how fast the villages was growing wouldn't deter me. I would just say don't buy on a golf course if it will tick you off having the house hit once in awhile. nothing astounds a golfer more than someone who buys on a golf course and then gets upset when the house gets hit by a ball!!

We built our house with a retention pond behind us.....I love the view, but I can tell you the frogs were so NOISY this summer! I have never had a pond behind my house....we had conservation land behind us before.....So far I haven't seen our resident gator...but my husband and my mom have.....But we do have some ducks and other water fowl....lovely.

Hasn't anyone noticed that when there is spraying done on the golf courses, they put up signs that say "NON-HAZARDOUS CHEMICALS HAVE BEEN APPLIED"......situational awareness.

I live 3 ft from the cart path on a championship course. Nothing about living on the course has bothered me. We are on the left side of the fairway and very, very seldom ever have a ball near us.

The only problem is when we could not get our pool stabilized (doing it ourselves) until it was realized that some fertilizer blowing from the course was the problem. Now, T&D cares for the pool and no more problems.

It is a beautiful setting, IMHO.
