I researched on Amazon.com and read the reviews on each one. Ended up buying it on line and they delivered it for free to my house. Bought a warranty from Square Trade on line.

Default TV

No question about it.

Go to Best Buy pick the one you like.

Go on the Internet plug in the name and model number, pick the best price, look for free delivery and set-up and purchase from a state that does not charge you taxes. You will save hundreds.

Find the one you want and email me the info and I'll search the net for you.

I determined which one I wanted from Consumer Reports and other such sources. I looked at the model at Best Buy (only local source of the brand), confirmed it was as expected and bought it from them. I could have bought it a little cheaper from Amazon but felt that since BB had made the investment to have them, I didn't feel right buying it anywhere else. Further, one of their salesmen really knew his stuff and showed me extra features and how to work them.

They had to bring a new one in from another store but it was defective. So, one of the managers gave me a free upgrade to the next model up and personally delivered and installed it.

Try getting that kind of service from Amazon.

I also researched CR and narrowed my choices to a couple of models. I was planning to buy from Amazon but wanted to look at the models at Best Buy first. Turned out Best Buy had a big sale on one of the models I wanted and I saved several hundred over Amazon.

Gotta shop & compare. Sometimes amazon wins sometimes brick & mortar wins. One thing for sure amazon wins on all the time is HDMI cables. You can get them all the time for $5-$10 depending on length. I think they start at $20 at any brick & mortar.

I went to Best Buy and learned I couldn't get the 2013 Samsung with bells and whistles there. ordered online without taxes. Love BB for many things as well and returning is a consideration to think about.

Best Buy matches prices with online stores such as Amazon.

So there is the online shipping cost (if there is one) vs local sales tax to consider and then the convenience of buying locally.

Here is a link to the Best Buy policy:
