Need to practice some 50 - 75 yard golf shots. Just need an open area. Are these open strips of land off limits or accessible? I did hit some balls in an open area just North of Morse, near the gate from 27/441. But there is a nice open strip of land with the big power line structures real near me....would be perfect. Yes or no??

So....you want to take your own golf balls and hit them 50-75 yds in taller grass which means good luck on finding them. Don't forget to look for snakes. :22yikes:

We have snakes in our yard with short grass and landscape stone. What’s the difference?

Just pay for a bucket of balls at a driving range

Don't want to hit off mats. Found a great spot. Hit about 45 balls this afternoon.

I frequently see golfers practicing along the Power Corridor Path near the dog park between Belle Mead Circle and Legacy Lane. I have never witnessed any Villages Official or Power Company employee interfere nor is there any signage indicating that area is "OB. As far as "radiation" concerns, I think the jury is still out on that one.

You will need to contact the power company that owns the land, and having worked for one up North, they will probably tell you NO due to liability concerns.

Most of the power line land in the Villages is owned by the Villages Development company. When they bought the land, the power companies had an existing easement on the corridors where the powerlines are. There are a couple of places in the villages where there are multimodal paths that run through the easement!

I recall a thread from a couple of years ago, where there was a request to add a golf cart path along one of the power lines, and the utility would not allow it.
