There was a group of drummers in the driveway across the street from me recently. My windows were closed and the sound was very muffled.

It wouldn't bother me at all if they continued, but they'll be back at the rec centers soon enough.

Is cardio drumming an activity usually done at a rec center?

Yes depending on the level you can burn more calories then running, or biking, and tone arms and legs

Beware all Villagers. Cardio Drumming (the act of beating a pilate ball with drum sticks) could be coming next door to your home.

Awoke to this Cardio Drumming this morning 2 houses down from me. I live in Summerhill. There was about 12 participants. Pounding like a head ache for 1 hour. This was the first time but my wife was informed that it will be happening every day.

We called Community Watch who told us that we need to call Police. We called Police. They told us that noise is allowed between 6 am and 10 pm unless the noise is more than the decibel level which it probably isn't.

So beware, what usually starts in one area and is allowed will spread throughout.

Really it is 1 hr and does not exceed the noise level. If it is the time of day I bet if you asked they could move it to a time when you are awake.

It doesn’t help that there was an article in the paper about this And hundreds of drummers needing their fix.

Doesn’t seem as if the fitness benefits are evident! Just saying....

Class I took was inside rec center. Danced around the ball. Actually work up a sweat. Great fun

What about those ( especially hard of hearing folks) who have or want a tv in their lanai? That would impede me of sitting outside and reading. And tell the cop to get a “decibel reader”.

Get out of bed and join the fun. Cardio drumming is good for your body and your soul. The people doing it in your neighborhood are hurting no one. The music is lively and the exercise is phenomenal. I run a class almost every day and when it rains we do it in our garages. If you hate music, get ear plugs or turn down your hearing aid.

The drummers are those kind of people that don’t care anything about anybody else but themselves. If they want to drum, play the banjo, play the bagpipes, or maybe even a loud boom box, I suggest they go into the open common area by the sheriffs department next to 466 and Morse Boulevard and gather there. The next thing you know the same people will be putting loud mufflers on their cars and go roaring through the neighborhood. Last night on Belvedere I drove by one house on the corner was having some sort of concert in the yard. The yard was full of people plus people were parked across the street in their golf carts. The people seem so interested in the concert that I didn’t realize that one of their dogs went off wandering in the street.

Other than The noise bothering neighbors? Why not go to polo field or some where where distance and traffic noise will muffle the noise you’re making. Be consider for residential neighborhoods? Just saying.

It is a great workout! I am a one of them & I agree that for one hour it is tolerable.

Halibut 06-06-2020 07:14 AM

I think it's nice to see people out exercising and having fun. It's of course cooler in the morning and I'd never begrudge anyone their chosen activity or the opportunity to socialize. The group I saw were observing social distancing guidelines.

But then, there are folks who'd like to call the police about wind chime noise. :icon_wink:

Murfino1 06-06-2020 07:24 AM

If it was everyday I would agree and be upset but I hosted a drumming driveway get together one time. Perhaps your neighbor should have warned you but a little understanding goes a long way. Hoping you have not lost a neighbor that might have been there for you or now you're not in a happy neighborhood
