Suspicious first post!!

Must be a boring day in NY or just a villager fishing for entertainment.

What kind of lawyer goes to a retirement community, anonymous web site for advice about leaving their profession?

Why don’t you find a NY firm that will allow you to work remote in FL writing the wills, trusts and estates and doing client calls via phone or zoom? Clients can go to the office to notarize once all has been finalized in their documents. You won’t earn what you would as a NY attorney, but not sure money is motivating your move to FL. I may even know of such a firm. You could also look into starting an advisory firm to help people navigate the complex system of when/how to begin taking social security and Medicare options?

PS - don’t be discouraged - I believe that some make it their hobby to post obnoxious replies on this forum rather then actually leaving their homes to partake in the village lifestyle. Every person I have met in the reality villages world is lovely - here, not so much.

You are over qualified for most jobs here in the villages.

I think Florida hires attorneys for mediations so I would check into that and the requirements. If you decide to volunteer Seniors V Crime is a project of the attorney generals office and is located in the Sumter county sherifs annex - phone- 352-689-4600 extension 4606. Bryan is the manager. Good luck

There is also, a book called “what color is your parachute” which is good at helping you find new ideas for carrier change

Consider volunteering vs a paid job

I guess you have to determine if you need to work. If not, then I find volunteering very fulfilling and there are numerous opportunities.

Hi Sue! Perhaps a position at a mental health facility? As you can see, there's a lot of wretched, old curmudgeons on this string. You'd absolutely have job security!

Seriously now, I love the idea of working remotely for you. No need to learn new skills, unless you want to that is. I recently "retired" and began working remotely for a med mal defense attorney. Absolutely love it. I don't have to get dressed, or drive to the office. I simply log into my computer and go to work. I can work whenever I want, last night I put a couple hours in from 10-1:30 bc I couldn't sleep. THE best part though, I'm free to travel back and forth from TV to my up north home, I can work from anywhere. Perhaps put your feelers out to firms in NY, I have to think there's something out there for you. Working remotely is one of the perks of Covid and it's here to stay. Best wishes to you!

Wretched old curmudgeons? Do you really think this is a real post?
