Great idea but a good husband will offer to hold the ladder for her

Stu. Well, I didn't claim to be a good husband. What I told her is that I'll sit on lanai watching closely, sipping something tasty, and I'll have my cell phone nearby in case I need to quickly dial 9-1-1

Last year my neighbor was up a ladder trimming his Sylvester Palm and he saw two eyes starring back at him, at first he thought it was Palm Rat. He then realized the eyes were too far apart, it was a Bobcat who probably was in the tree looking for a rat. The Bobcat came down and passed him on the way. He got off the ladder and then realized the Bobcat was cornered by the villa wall, there was no way out unless it ran by my neighbor. Then in one swift move the Bobcat scaled the wall and was gone.

A very good reason to have your wife trim the tree.

Still waiting for a blizzard so my wife can use the snow shovel I bought her for valentines day.

IMO that’s least of my worries. The queen palm seed pods that can be widow makers. 30 to 50 pound, shaped like torpedo with point.

OMG. We put 5 Queen Palms In our New Orleans Courtyard. BEAUTIFUL, but they grew about 2-3 feet per year (New Orleans rain & heat) After 4 years, we hired the trimming. It cost about $1200 +tips twice/year.

YES, you are so right about the danger.

Harmless red rat or corn snake. A good guy, keeps rodents and pests away.

The reason the bobcat didn’t go after your neighbor was because of the smell coming from is pants!
