Default Carrier thermostat showing wrong outdoor temperature

Out thermostat is showing temperature of 122 degrees and above. Anyone know how to rectify this?

Generally that means your outside sensor is in direct sunlight. Check that out and see if you can get some sort of shade cover. Barring that, have a good chuckle when it says it's 80 degrees but the real temp is 50.

Out A/C unit is on rthe west side of the house, so we have come to not use the outside reading after noon, most of the rest of the time it is very close. We solved this problem with an indoor/outdoor thermometer and I placed the outdoor unit is an area that is shaded. I know of no other fix, sorry.
