Default Cat owners

I'm sure many of you have tried this but if not you should! We bought a litter genie..it's kind of like the diaper genie of years ago. It is GREAT! I swore I would never own cats because I can't stand the smell/litter box thing. We got this a few months ago and keep it next to their litter box. It eliminated odor and is so convenient to just scoop up the mess and drop it in.

I've had cats for years and never heard of the Litter Genie. Where did you get it? I built an Iris for that little niche off the laundry area for my 2 cat's litter box.

We bought ours at a pet supply. It comes with a supply of bags. Our litter box is in the laundry room also. We have two cats and need to empty the genie once a week.

Totally agree! I use the "Lucky Champ", which is very similar, and don't have any odor problems at all. (Available on Amazon)

Yes, another vote for posting a picture of your cats. Trish, thank you for the information about the Litter Genie. In a few months when I am ready to be owned by a cat again, I will have to check out the Litter Genie.

Default Question on Genie

Have a question on the genie -- when you take the bag out of the genie to dispose of it, is there a bad odor. I ask because it reminds me of the diaper canister we use to use to dispose of dirty diapers. I recall when I had to empty the canister, the odor was so bad that it knocked me over. There wasn't any odor coming from outside the canister, just when I took the bag out for disposal in the trash.

I don't think the bag smells that bad when I empty it.

Here's our kitty on closing day.
