just returned from routine dr. appt. I discussed with him my sadness that covid is on the rise again and my anger at those who won't get vaccinated and/or wear a mask. He said he understood, seemed dismayed as well, and said many will pay a price for that.

The data supporting all announcements by all levels of government should be released at the time of the announcement to provide confidence in the announcements.

I'm glad that more and more information is becoming available, BUT it seems that only particular information is released that suits the aim or goal of those broadcasting it. For instance, information regarding the widespread of the Delta variant and infection rate is hysterically pushed upon us and the possible need for mandating mask wearing, after they told us that if we had the vaccination we would no longer need to wear the mask and that the vaccination would also protect us from Delta. OK, so people make mistakes. I get it. However, the teachers refused to teach our children until they were placed at the front of the vaccination line with the first responders. That done, they now say that they will not return to class until the children are vaccinated. Good call, considering the fact that children are not being vaccinated yet.
Yes, I want to hear the latest information as it is released, BUT please give us the truth whether good or bad, not just politically motivated.
Why is it that they tell us about the great spurt in Covid infections due to the Delta variant, BUT do not tell us about how low the death rate has become? Sounds to me that this is information that EVERYONE should know so that they can have a positive outlook on the situation and the future. Sure, some folks are still dying, but folks are still dying from the flu, rabies, snake bites, etc. Good news should be given out just as fast as bad news.
Does anyone have a link to a spurt of deaths in the past few months? I've been looking, but I only see graphs that are dropping. Seems to me that either the vaccination is working, or the virus is fading/weakening. Either way, I think that is good news. Of course, there are always the gloom and doom mongers that insist that one death in a million is too many, and that they know someone that just died or someone that is seriously ill and hospitalized. Sorry, but no one lives forever. No one gets out of this life, alive and old folks generally die faster than younger folks.
Give us up to date stats on how many are currently dying from Covid in the U.S. of A. I am not concerned with India, S.America or Africa. I do not plan to travel there again.

So now anyone that dies from the flu is counted as Covid .

Why? And what does that have to do with covid?

I think that is speculation and or exaggeration that people are counted as death by Covid when that is not the cause. I think it must be very hard to precisely place the reason for death, particularly for the elderly. They can die from the Covid-19 virus but it could be labeled pneumonia. Both would be correct.

I choose to trust the CDC. I choose to think that Dr. Fauci is continuing to do his job and although very good at it, he can only report data reported to HIM.

It must be very difficult to get data that is completely reliable.

I refuse to believe that anyone is benefiting by this Pandemic that affects people world wide. I remember seeing the early films coming from Italy. AWFUL.

True. Fauci has withheld data for peer review which is the foundation of science. He also called one of the scientists who supported the lab leak idea and that scientist suddenly changed his mind. Fauci is said to be a tyrant to and scientists who disagree with him.

I agree and will add, it is not just up to the doctor or hospital to pick a cause, any cause of death. There are laws governing how to determine the cause of death and comorbidity. ANY doctor that draws outside the lines can be sued and lose the license to practice medicine that they spent half their life earning.
