Cemetary in TV
I was driving on Stillwater the other day and passed a vegetation enclosed area with beautiful oak trees across from the Caroline pool. I thought is was a park but when I drove around it I found a small cemetery. I assume it was on the land when TV bought it and they agreed to maintain it. Does anyone know the origins of this cemetery or the history?

I found this on the Villages website.
The historic area of tee box #7 on The Caroline, is The Villages own version of the fabled Amen Corner. The tee is adjacent to one of the oldest cemeteries in the county, rumored to be the final resting place of many of our earliest settlers.

Weird, it keeps telling me this webpage isn't available. I even tried clicking on it from Google as well as TOTV.

The road to this cemetery is right in our back yard. There is a gate with chain lock on it, that the mowers open to mow or when there is a funeral. Been here ten years and only seen two funerals. The church is up the dirt road, and is still active to this day.

Andrew Blechman wrote about that cemetery in "Leisureville". Apparently the developer had to to let it remain in place. It is very historic.

Our first home in TV was near the cemetery in Kaylee Villas. Never saw a funeral there but did see some ladies putting flowers on graves there. It is well maintained.

Yes, this is the final resting place for the Old Crow Tribe. Once a flourishing nation in New Jersey they decided enough already with the shoveling, lets go to Florida. They invented many of our customs today.
