I wouldn't say they're cheap homes. first they've built 50K homes, so a few problems can be expected. Stuff happens, and you have a home warranty. As for the Cabinet issue these are not custom cabinets, they look fine but as anything else you get what you pay for, and unless your going custom or high end these are the same cabinets just about every builder in the country are using, as for the plumbing issue, I'm sure if this are more then a few homes the mason contractor will be gone, if it turns out to be a problem is from the tile guy which I suspect he to will be gone. The developer doesn't want problems and there are many other contractors waiting to work in the villages. I wouldn't concern myself that much as you don't hear of many MAJOR new home issues.

Thanks for making good points. I think I'm just a bit nervous with moving day coming soon. I'm sure things will be fine when I just RELAX. LOL.

Ok...you'all are right. I wouldn't trade these cabinets for solid wood ones in a cold climate...just needed to b**ch. Thanks for the wake up :)

Moving day will be fine and when you get down here you'll forget all about it. TV is a great place, as I was told there are bigger, cheaper and better houses else where but they don't have our life style.

I felt the same way before purchasing in March. I eliminated many of the problems you read about on here by buying pre-owned. I'm in an established neighborhood with mature landscaping, nice shade trees, no construction going on around me, no nails in my tires, and a paid bond. You couldn't pay me to go through the home-building process and the problems that follow.

have been here 5 years, our kitchen gets a workout as we actually use it for cooking, and have had no problems with the appliances or the cabinetry. we have white cabinets which are so much easier to keep clean and new looking than our oak cabinets in pennsylvania.
the only item in our home that is suffering from 'wear and tear' is the original carpeting in the living room/dining area. the light color makes it impossible to keep clean, and it has also developed a bump in the middle of the room(the carpet needs to be stretched). we are saving up for tile floors, but will be leaving the bedrooms carpeted.
