Has anyone been following the budget of the State of Florida? On one hand the politicians talk about raising the education of our children and with the other they take away the means to do just that-Money!

I am in the early childhood education field in a State Mandated Coalition called Early Learning Coalition of Lake County. Just recently we were informed to cut back on everything here at the coalition. Why? The State Government is having a special session on September 18th. to decide how much to cut back on the budget. The percentages being talked about are from 4% to 10%. The percentages do not sound like much but they are cutting back more than the inflation rate rose. The cost of services to our children did not go down 4% but went up 4%! Our children and their families will feel the crunch as their needs will go unmet.

What to do? Is there anyone out there who can be an honest politician? Someone who will be true to their word and say what they mean and mean what they say? Help!!!
