bbbbbb Responding to above post.

We have been Tutoring children in the Elementary School in Lady Lake. There are so many children that need help in reading and math. It is incredibly rewarding to do this, to work one on one or two persons with two children and meet with them once or twice a week and to see them grow as you develop ways to help them learn. We are retired teachers, but you do not have to be a teacher. It is a great experience, it costs you nothing and you will probably see what we found, the Children and the Teachers really need your help and they are very grateful. You can make your own schedule with the teachers. It can even be fun.

Yes there are children living in the villages, school age children. We live on the old side and there was a whole family living with grandparents for over two years. The Village developers put up a beautiful home right next to them and it wasn't long after that, that the family was gone. It is unfair as I believe you can rent to whoever and they can have children. They can not be throw out if they have a lease signed in good faith. So yes renters can have little children in their houses but owners are only suppose to have for 30 days. The way around this is just to say you babysit them for the day.

Nope. Children under 19 are not allowed whether renting or living in owned home. PERIOD. If reported owner of home will be fined.

They'll Always be Your "Children!"

Thank you! That is exactly what I was getting at.
Until the day you die, they will always be your children (like it or not! :D ), no matter how old they are.

The age restriction is a deed restriction, not a lease agreement.
There is no "way around" rules or laws...................
Yep, sometimes life is unfair!

The way around this??
I really love my kids (age 24 and 21 not living at home), but I would never move young children to The Villages (retirement community!)...so they have to act like illegal aliens.

What you described (the family that violated the covenants) is probably a strong reason the developer has been buying up the old trailer homes (low enough value that people that have a tenancy to violate rules can afford) and building new more expensive homes in their place (running off the pit bull dogs, golf cart grave yards, bust outs). Good people don't want to live near bad people...

Great idea 6Bs! :clap2:

Possibly a trade could be negotiated; I bet those kids could teach some of us how to use our cell phones and tablets better.:icon_wink:

When people ask how many children, I say 'one' although he is 52. Yes, he is my child until the day I croak! Actually I guess I refer to him more as 'my son'. Just sayin.........

Saw a school bus drop off a teen aged girl at the Santo Domingo gate

I don't know about little children but I am very concerned about adult children living with their parents. When reading **************.com it seems like most all the crimes committed in the Villages is by older children living with their parents in the Villages. We should be able to feel safe here.

Spike380 10-24-2016 09:15 PM

Must be over 19 to live with parents/grandparents. nothing younger

Do you have any idea how many people...including me, my wife, and my upstanding, honest, hard working, no-longer-living-with-us son...that you have offended?!? (Or at least would have offended if we cared about the opinion of somebody so heartless.)

Although admission comes with a mild pang...I actually agree with you on this one. :ho:

Back to OPs original question. Do you mean under the age of 18 how many live here. Or is the question how many live here over the age of 19. My cousins two daughters both over the age of 19 have lived here for over 10 years.

I know GG has a daughter that lives with them too. Why such a concern over people who have young adults living with them who may need their help with care or other issues. Not all over the age of 19 are bad people that live here. Just curious as to the balance of age.?

When we fill out our surveys is the question on our surveys of ages in the house ? I don't remember.
