Ecosport breaks squeal

I drove a new Ford Ecosport for 4 years. Every time I started the vehicle, put it in reverse to back up, and applied the breaks, the breaks squealed quite loudly. The dealership that sold me the car covered this up by driving the car around before I test drove it. The breaks only squeal after the car has been sitting for a while. Dealership told me later this is a known issue and no repair solution. I drive a Toyota now.

2018 Ford Escape with 32,711 miles for $14,995 2 hours away...

Would you trust a reputable dealer 2 hours away to deliver for free?

Ford stopped making the Ecosport in 2022. I will say that they are very reliable. Small 1.6 I believe but I have a friend that works at a Ford dealership and he tells me the Eco’s are rarely in the shop. That mileage, on that yr and model at that particular dealership...are selling at about 19K. And those are coming out of the rental fleet. It’s a popular model but again, do your homework on its origins/history.

OP, here is another suggestion. If you really need to buy a used car, go to CarMax. They have a large selection and you won't get cheated.

I wouldn't buy any of them, especially one that is 14 years old. I own a loaded 2017 Ford Escape Titanium that only cost $26,000 when it was brand new. Buy the least expensive new car that you can find. Mullinax Ford in Apopka sells new cars for a discount on the MSRP plus tax, title, and tag. No dealer add-ons and no dealer fees.

Would I trust a dealer to deliver a car? Absolutely not. Also, if you buy a car from a dealer, check the DOT number on the tires to determine when they were made, and make sure they don't switch the tires before delivery.

Purchased a 9 passenger van years ago free m California to ship to Maryland and it was perfect. Truck arrived at midnight.

Alwys go for the later model vehicle 13 year o;d cars are looking very old, hoses belts wirind all are 13 years old , even 5 year old cars don't have the latest update accessories. Mileage on todays cars is not that big of a deal, consider how many miles you drive year factor that in your decision.

You can buy a new Chevy Trax suv for around $22,000 brand new with full warranty and they offer very low financing. I'd pay the $6,000 more and have a well rated, brand new, under factory warranty car. My Chevy suv has been the best vehicle I've ever owned.

2011 Toyota RAV4

vinricci 06-29-2024 07:25 AM

Toyota hands down.

I like SUV’s plus retired from Ford so I would get the 2018 Escape. I had a 2018 Escape & had no issues with it. So that’s my choice!

I have a 2007 Highlander with 142,000 miles. Replaced the timing chain at 100,000 miles. Have you done any major repairs? Maybe a transmission fluid flush??? I am shooting for 175,000...5 more years.

There is a reason that RAV4 is priced higher even though it is the oldest vehicle on the list.
Better quality, last longer and higher resale value.
