Miss cold water out of the faucet. Our Florida adopted dog is not liking upstate weather right now.

We were back on Long Island for Christmas. We couldn't wait to get back to The Villages. Nineteen degrees when we left. Next day it was 9 degrees. You won't miss the weather, only the kids and the grandkids. Sent them a plane ticket. It's more fun

Hope you brought your winter clothes with you when you came back down

I'm from Massachusetts and as I got older the cold really does a number on my body. I'll take the summer heat/humidity here in Florida over the north any day. A short plane flight and I can go back to visit family. I'm glad I'm here!

New Englander, I would choose New England over Florida because of its historical character and architectural varieties. There is always a surprise around the corner when we go for Sunday drives.

We loved living in Ohio because of it's beauty and it's beautiful homes and lovely things to see and the cleanliness.

Circumstances have prevented us from moving into our house in TV at this time. However, I am from NY and cold days can be nice, as long the sun is out. Most time, if the sun is out, it is usually only part of the day. The days are mostly grey and short, and the nights can be long, as we hibernate in our warm cozy house, with boredom, and wait to go to bed. The question “is how cold is cold to you?” With cold, comes a whole set of problems. My last twelve hours are only reinforcing our decision to move to TV to be the right one- for us. Our last twelve hours have gone like this:

-Getting ready for bed, the back is still sore from shoveling days before, so, I took an OTC pain reliever.
-hubby and I lug 40 lb. bags of pellets up cellar steps to our
two pellet stoves.
- decided to take a shower, water pooling in bottom of shower-
the pipe froze ( first time in out 37 years of living in this house)
- taking steps to thaw and went to bed at 1:00 am
- woke up and it started snowing as we headed out to buy heat tape to wrap the frozen pipe. Eureka! We found it on the third try-it had been sold out.
- snow coming down fast now, decided to get kerosene as a
backup heating system-we often lose our electricity with wind &
snow. (Shame on us, we could have done this yesterday).
- we managed to get up the hill to our house as we skidded our
way up the road and driveway.

I only hope that I will remember moments like this when I am finally in The Villages and someone asks me if I miss the cold.

Cold to me means we take the car instead of the golf cart

You just gotta rub it in, don't ya?

To msendo, I feel your pain. While the better half is outside clearing the drive, I'm stoking the fire inside to keep the house warm. One day we'll both be in TV instead and will have to make the important decisions that fw102807 has to make - car or golf cart? :D

We did it for long enough. The year before we moved we got 4 ft of snow in 2 weeks. Had to shovel the roof and the driveway for days and then it froze. Not missing it!

Good for you! We have relatives that used to live in the Nashua area but are now living in Florida. They were just up this way for the holidays visiting their children near Boston first, then stopped by to see us on their way back home. My aunt couldn't wait to get back to Florida even though it was only 54 degrees when she got there. I guess after 2 weeks up here, that was a heat wave to her!

We went up last year to visit my kids but this year decided to wait until spring. Just can't do it anymore.
