I go to this pool very often for Advanced Intermediate Water Volleyball--crazy why someone would do this--it is copper? Geesh--maybe gold??? There is always a fun sucker in a group.

As far as one group taking over another groups time--I think that is crazy--I am not happy WVB only gets two hours a day but I certainly don't see anyone taking a knob off the speaker just to prevent someone else from not using the pool.

I do think "Colony" has irritated someone with the noise--time for a deer cam or nanny cam sting!! You could always HOT WIRE the button to give a bit of a "shock"...Just kidding of course :-)

I think it's time to install a locking enclosure that prevents access to the knob - similar to those used to cover HVAC thermostats.

To remove the irritation for you personally how about you get one of the knobs and put it in your bag then when you come to teach the class you can slip it on and use the system. If it is a neighbor who is being irritated by people maybe turning up the music too loud, not you of course, it will keep happening although If I have the location right I can't think of who would be close enough to be bothered at it.

A cage with a key that you get from the desk would solve the problem and as you use it all the time maybe they would give you a key.

I think it is from the water volley ball bunch and I have my mind on one guy who is on the advanced team. He is kind of a trouble maker and has been kicked off of TOTV twice that I know of.


He would be the type to stroll over and steal a knob. His mom shoulda spanked him when he was little.

GORILLA GLUE at Home Depot. Get the All Purpose Adhesive, not the wood glue.

The down side would be that the thief might destroy the whole unit while trying to pull off the knob.

Really the simple solution is right in front of you: All the people who use the pool have a round the clock vigil on the scene of the crime...call it " Knob Patrol " a ( Suggestion ).

Make a roster up and begin your sleuthing before you know it the person or persons who are responsible for will be captured and turned over to the authorities.

I can see the Headline now Case of the Missing " Knobs " Solved.. All those responsible will feel PROUD !!

Put some oil dye on the knobs. Then the next day shine a black light on all the people who go to the pool. The culprits hands will glow a bright yellow. BUSTED!!!
