Your statement near signature saying "God doesn't roll the dice" was a topic in a book I reads a long time ago titled The Ghost In The Machine by Arthur Koestler.
You attribute it to Uncle Albert. Was it in that song as well?

I bought a pair of Sketchers new model called “slip ins”. You just step in and out of them without having to bend over and they are very comfortable.

Last year I bought a pair of New Balance walking shoes. The soles were so thin that they hurt the bottom of my feet when walking on asphalt. It was lucky that I bought them from Amazon so I could return them. The New Balance customer service was terrible, and apparently, they have no return policy.

That's too bad. My New Balance 840V4's have been all over Europe and I am still wearing them today. I can understand if you are buying the Kohl's $60.00 variety.

Which shoe stores around here (no online please) have everyday walkers. Not golf shoes, not sports shoes, not hiking boots. Simple everyday shoes. Leather or fabric uppers OK. Cushiony without being a dedicated sports shoe.

Prefer buying from a store so we can try on without shipping back and forth.

For Feet’s Sake - Sumter
Fleet Feet -Colony
Shoe Biz - Brownwood

The ones I bought were Model 813V1, walking shoes, for $85 on Amazon.

A good place to look for walking shoes is All About Feet on Canal Street close to Sumter Landing Square. Raiker is a very good brend.

There is a sketchers store in the Rolling Acres plaza

Sketcher Slip ins are like walking on a cloud and very easy to get on and off. No laces to tie.

I suggest trying on a pair of Hokas. Your whole body will thank you. It took a few days for me to notice the difference. My feet, knees, hips and back all feel better after walking in Hokas.

Agree but where do you buy them around here

Jazzcat 11-29-2023 02:44 PM

ECCO brand

ECCO is the only brand of shoes I wear. I absolutely LOVE their sandals, and their golf shoes too! Shoe Biz on 441 sells them and there’s also an ECCO outlet at the Tampa Premium Outlets in Wesley Chapel that has great sales.

THANKS everyone for the suggestion, lots of choices. We even have Sketchers WITH and WITHOUT the "T."

William MacEntee 11-30-2023 06:23 AM

I looked at Walmart shoes and could not find the unbranded sketchers. Do they have a name, the $29 shoe you mentioned.

Shoe biz and fleet feet in the villages both carry Hokas.
Otherwise the drive to Ocala is worth it.
