Thanks for the info. Yes...we did a short visit while we were staying in Orlando 3 weeks ago and really liked the place. As you have stated, there is a lot to consider before moving to TV. Sorry to hear that most of the homes are electric. I don't do well with electric cooking.:sad:. If our home EVER sells, which is beginning to seem impossible (on the market for 1 1/2 yrs), we will definitely come and look at homes. We are also considering moving to SC near some friends of ours. It's all so up in the air right now.

I will say that we have heard many good reports from people who know people that have moved there. I've really only had one bad comment, so that says a lot.

Hi and welcome from a former toledoan! Your observations are absolutely correct. Most people, including myself, moved here for the lifestyle and were very much aware that we could have gotten "more house for less money" somewhere else. But like the others, after seeing what this place offers, our attitude changed to "if they would let me move and set up a tent with a sleeping bag, I would do it". We own a 3br 2bath courtyard villa and have had to make some downsizing adjustments, but have found that we just don't need most of the stuff we thought we did. I recommend you come on down and try out the lifestyle visit.

I am also stuck in Ohio, but hopefully not forever. I agree with your comment about needing a gas range. Has anyone installed a propane tank in the areas that do not have gas - would it be allowed? If so, seems like a simple solution that would widen your housing choices.

I now of at least one newer home in TV that has an underground propane tank, installed when the home was built.
