Anticipating the new Costco - it’s great being within five minutes of catching the turnpike ramp and shooting down to Clermont for shopping when needed - beats the long, tedious drive to the Spanish Springs area. Looking forward as The Villages continues to develop southward!

Just curious what route you take from Richmond to get to the turnpike in 5 minutes? We live in DeLuna and are just one mile to 301 after exiting the DeLuna 301 gate, so it’s usually about 5 minutes for us to get to the turnpike. Your route is definitely farther than ours.

Also, what kind of shopping is available in Clermont now? We are definitely excited about the Costco as that and TJ’s are the two stores we miss the most after moving here, but for other shopping we’ve been going up to Lady Lake and really don’t like the drive or congestion up there. So far the only places we’ve gone via turnpike is WDW and a quick stop at Costco in Orlando after a day at Epcot. Hated that Costco, but I was exhausted when we stopped there so maybe that influenced my opinion.

Great news. Clermont is a great area and right now is easy to get to. There is a Target, Home Depot, Lowes and many car dealers there already. So much easier than trying to get to the northern areas of The Villages.
I do not know how BJ's survives. The newer one in The Villages is always empty and you have to use coupons and also they staff few registers so you have to do self checkout.

Heck you gotta have pizza and the hotdog at costco

My son lives in Clermont and would be happy to shop at Costco again!

I drive it every Sunday morning to attend church in Winter Garden - very little street traffic that early on a Sunday morning, I live i north Richmond, so I go Meggison to 44 to 301 to Turnpike - if I have no red lights I can get to turnpike in about 5 Minutes.

You certainly are in the minority. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Costco.

I agree with that opinion. Costo is most certainly the superior warehouse for many items and their return policy cannot be beat. We canceled our BJ's membership.
