If BJ’s is coming and Sam’s Club is already here, how long do you think it will take for Costco to realize they need a presence in our area?

Bilyclub 08-20-2021 08:17 AM

39.3 miles for me with a straight shot down the Turnpike will be worth at least one drive there.

Not sure where exactly in Clermont it will be located but for me south of 44 it says 28 miles and 40 minutes to Clermont. That’s just a little more than getting to Sams. I think my wife will be making the trip and replace Sams with Costco. The growth in the south may prefer the trip to Clermont on the turnpike. Again, it is personal preference and where you are located. An Ocala location for Costco we would never use.

I think the Google Maps specific location for "Clermont" is actually about 7 miles west of the Costco site. So, your distance may be more like 35 miles.

Doesn't actually look like it's CLOSE to TV, 48 to 53 minutes away based on Maps directions from the Villages to Clermont. TV just doesn't meet Costco demographics population and family structure I'm afraid.

taruffi57 08-20-2021 09:43 AM

Clermont is not "close".

CoachKandSportsguy 08-20-2021 09:55 AM

have never been to costco, sams club, and only in emergency to walmart, not sure what the big deal is want to bring all the congestion to TV,

but what is interesting is that COSTCO doesn't want to go to OCALA because of price competition . . so what does that say about the prices which will be in CLERMONT?

as I said, i don't get it

I had to look at Google maps since I’ve never been to Clermont, and also, never been to a Costco.

I know lots of people on here have said they really like Costco. However, since I retired, I don’t really want to go long distances to go shopping, and Google maps says Clermont is about an hour’s drive. I currently shop at Sam’s about once a month which is a 10-minute drive for me. They have everything I want/need, so I guess I’ll continue with Sam’s.

I’d like to see Costco deliver fresh food to TV. Then it wouldn’t matter where they are located.

I think that they made a grave mistake by not planning the store nearer to The Villages!!!!!!

Villages Kahuna 08-20-2021 03:26 PM

If you look at a map, this is just another Costco in metropolitan Orlando. It’s an hour drive from my house in The Villages to this store.

Why not a Costco IN The Villages?

Costco has 2 stores in Orlando and 2 in Winter Park. They do extensive market research before they select a location. There are 2.6 million people in Orlando TV does not fit their demographics.

You good folks DO realize that you can order from Costco and they deliver (with a fee if you don't order enough), or no fee if you do. Just restocked my frozen/cold items to the tune of $150. It will ship on Monday and be delivered FREE (since I went over $100) and spare me the "impulse" buying I seem so good at every time I walk into a Costco. Just FYI. How much better than free delivery to your door can you get? Here is their "shipping" info for frozen/cold items for The Villages.....

Shipping is included in the quoted price.

Due to the perishable nature of the items, orders will only ship on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday delivery. Orders placed after noon on Wednesday will ship the following Monday.

This area should be hitting that population number shortly, hang in there.:a040:
