Country Clubs aren’t the place to wine & Dine your lady. The Country Club ceilings Aren’t insulated so sounds bounce off metal ceilings. Surely you can find somewhere else besides a noisy C. C. to take your gal out for a little soft music. Live music plays what kind of crowd they have. Next time wait until some nursing home has family night, I gaurantee you it’ll suit you!

Tophcha, I doubt their experience was indoors. You sound a bit snarky. Im amazed how ornary you all sound.

Please rethink and start doing what you can to stay safe so you will be around to enjoy the music next summer after the Operation Warp Speed has provided everyone a protective vaccine.

I think The Villages is the noisiest place I've ever seen. Perhaps because many seniors are hard of hearing, and they eat in large groups.... the noise level in restaurants does not make for quiet conversation.

120,000 new cases yesterday, yikes! Maybe the brainwashed one is the one thinking that those with the opposite opinion are brainwashed. I personally know of a case that just appeared yesterday in TV Land. There are some people that will have to be dragged "kicking and screaming" into the world of mask-wearing and the empathy needed to respect their fellow TV Landers. Unfortunately, it may require laws to ensure safe and healthy behavior. No one in the US wants that. New Zealand and other countries were able to simply request mask-wearing on a voluntary basis. Their country complied. Again, UNFORTUNATELY, our country is losing the war against CV and is pretending that it is unnecessary to fight CV back. All-you-all can only PRETEND for so long. The CV is coming closer and closer to friends that YOU know here locally! Countrywide sanity needs to return soon. Winston Churchill understood the US well when he said that America will do the RIGHT thing..........AFTER they have tried all other options. We are currently very far from doing the right thing.......as Americans are NEEDLESSLY dying!

Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't this thread about noise at a country club restaurant? Why do some people have to turn EVERYTHING into a Covid debate?

Operation warp speed has a dreamy, unrealistic sound to it. There IS a good chance that it will happen, but NOT 100%. The virus can mutate. A vaccine may take 2 doses. It will be logistically difficult to transport it - at super cold levels. We are right to be hopeful, but it IS possible that we will have to wake up and wear masks and stay 10ft apart for a long time.

It has a lot to do with restaurants. Mask-wearing and empathy need to be part of the dining out experience. For example, more outdoor seating and less indoor seating. That is a realistic and doable option for restaurants - Florida is warm. The live music could have open seating close up, but sound deadening booths with adjustable volume speakers that customers could adjust to their preference. As long as CV persists ALL society MUST eventually adjust to that new reality. Restaurants are a BIG part of society - particularly here in TV Land.

Happy Hour itself, brings on louder voices (especially the later in happy hour it gets!). Multiply that by them also being close to the music, trying to make sure they are louder than the music to carry on their conversation, and that's what you get. We've been to Nancy Lopez and Arnold Palmer, and didn't have that problem. One of them (can't remember which) had soft background music (not live), which was pleasant, and no loud talking/screaming. I'm sure there are probably others as well. Sorry your evening didn't go as planned. I've been there before, and I feel the same way.

The country clubs have always been notoriously loud/noisy. The way they are built, sound just carries, though especially during happy hour and/or live music. I haven't been to any in ages. I don't enjoy eating outside as it's almost always too freaking hot to even breathe.
Sadly, all the local restaurants that will be participating in the Veterans Day special deals are for dine-in only, so I won't be able to enjoy that this year. Just yet another thing we've had to give up on. Oh well.
