Never ceases to amaze me how people go on and on about how awesome the weather is in Florida, how it was one of the #1 reasons they moved here. And then they spend most of their time inside with the windows closed and the A/C on.

So true

Alot of people love fresh air !! I'm wondering why we don't see skylights here that open like up north?? Solar tube's yes we see but I love skylights? Any not sarcastic comments please?

We’ve built three homes with three different builders, Ohio and Florida.
None of the builders wanted to install skylights. They had too many experiences where it leaked a few years later, and their clients wanted them to repair all damages at their cost.
It sounds like you were one of the lucky ones who had skylights that performed well.
I’m sure you can probably find someone who will install skylights for you. Make sure it doesn’t invalidate your roof warranty.
You also have a high probability of frogs coming in. People get frogs in their bathroom all the time via their roof vents.

You’d only be adding humidity to the humidity.

I made a similar post earlier.....

Apparently the CYV layout doesn’t support the option but that may be the only build out that doesn’t. (Feel free to correct me)
OBB made a great point earlier....how most moved here for weather but hide in AC all day (paraphrasing). So my point was why not have the option in the cooler months to open a window(s) to enjoy a cross breeze. In the summer months ....if you’re an early riser, throw ‘em open for an hour or two for same effect. Apparently the ‘bubble’ isn’t just a description of TV.....for some, it’s how they live their life in it!
