We got appointments through Walmart when severe medical risk was approved by the governor through private pharmacies. A friend of my bride told her to go on the Walmart site right after midnight. It worked, we have appointments for this Sunday.

I wonder if 55 will be the next group to be offered the shot or if they'll just make it available to everyone at that point. |
The COVID-19 vaccinations are available for people age 60 and over on March 15th. However, no one is saying when the standby lottery signups will drop that age restriction from age 65 to age 60. The standby registration age limit should be lowered now, to get people between ages 60 and 65 registered for the standby lists, in preparation for March 15th.
The people that are vulnerable to COVID-19 that are under age 65, need approval by a medical doctor, and the vaccinations are given at a medical facility, not the vaccination sites. Governor DeSantis talked about the demand decreasing recently. He said that the appointments for the pharmacy vaccination sites used to be gone in a couple of minutes. Now, it takes an hour to an hour and a half for all the appointments to be gone. It will be interesting to see how many seniors don’t want or refuse the COVID-19 vaccinations. Perhaps 25% to 30% of the seniors don’t want the vaccinations. Now, It’s almost at 60% of the seniors that had at least one vaccination shot. That percentage is probably a bit higher than that because the reporting data lags by 3 to 5 days. The seniors are never going to hit 100%, because some of the seniors will always refuse the vaccinations. |
moving to 60 and up

I won't qualify until they get to 50+ since I won't be 55 until next year, so for me I figure it's whenever they open it up to everyone. My wife is older and she qualifies now, but we can't get an appt here in NJ for her. We own two houses in TV, so we have the right documents, and when we finally move down full time in April, she's just going to get it in TV. As I said above, when the party is over I'll have the opportunity. No big deal, I'm taking IVM prophylaxis. I suspect they will do it by age until they start having trouble filling appointment. |

My 85+ FIL and MIL finally got shots _LAST WEEK_. My friend who is 66 was only able to get a shot because his son is a first responder and called him to a Hospital that had several no shows. Getting his second shot the line was filled with 30 somethings. In other words, NJ seemed to have ignored the seniors and prioritized people at very low risk of dying. Be thankful you're in Fl. We are only up here in NJ because we're getting the house ready to sell. Call Florida's system bad, but up here it's a complete poop show. |

As for me, I've done a handful of flights this year, I do all the shopping, I work and interact with around 50 people almost every day. I've had people all around me get Covid. I may have had it in early March last year, well before you could get testing easily. I give some credit to my daily Vitamin D and Zinc with Quercetin as the Ionophore I've been taking since Feb 2020. My doctor has me on IVM prophlaxis for a couple months now since the NIH updated their guidance in January. I've not so much as had the sniffles in over a year. |
