I am sorry to hear your doctor recommended against the vaccine for you.

Anyway, be careful and stay safe, hopefully we are almost over the worst of it.

And, I would do BOTH again without hesitation because the expert I count on is my PCP. She said take it and I do. If I didn't trust her, I would definitely find another doctor.

Maybe one of the side effects was you forgot a TOTV'S rule: NO POLITICAL REFERENCES ARE ALLOWED ON THE WEBSITE. USERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DIRECT COMMENTS TOWARD ANOTHER USER. DIRECT THEM TO THE TOPIC. VIOLATION OF THESE RULES CAN LEAD TO ACCOUNT TERMINATION AND BAN.

It was your baiting tactic in post #73 I believe. You sure do remind me of a poster from the past who was banned forever and a day for not following rules. Best of luck in the future trying to be a good citizen on Our Forum. :1rotfl::1rotfl:

And you directed that post directly at me, so, I assume you think you are above the rules? And in addition, the post of mine you replied to was about the topic and had NO political references. Hmm, hypocrisy runs deep in this forum.

Oh, and last, could you point out where the list is of banned members? I don't recall being able to find it, so I find it interesting that you KNOW who was banned.

I understand.

I directed it at you because Mickey Mouse is busy today and he didn't break any rules, you are the one who tried to bait people into turning this political. I'm a member of this Forum and have no higher status or I would enforce the rule I posted and give you some time in the corner.

You don't know where the banned list is? I think that's the first thing you haven't presented yourself as an expert on something since I've been back.

Leave the Political references out. Got It? Good!

However, we wear a mask to protect others more than ourselves. I wear them in crowded areas and will wear one on a plane for sure, probably forever.

Forever is a long time. Will you wear a mask when Covid is endemic? The flu has been endemic for as many years as I'm alive and that is a long time.

From where I sit, over two billion people world wide are fully vaccinated with Covid vaccines. Seems pretty good to me that most of those people have been saved from dying.

I've had two full Moderna shots and two boosters. To this day, I have no idea if I have actually had Covid. I never had any symptoms at all but that does not mean I have never had Covid. There are those who are asymptomatic with Covid and I may have been one of them.

I've only been tested twice for cruises and both of those tests were negative but who knows........I could have tested positive any other time. Unless you are tested just about every day for Covid, you will never know if you have had Covid.

Not fun.

Be thankful you have a robust immune system. There are people who are immunocompromised that would love to be able to say that.

I switched from Pfizer to Moderna for booster 2 based on publications indicating they're may be some advantages doing so.

Pfizer, Moderna vaccines aren’t the same; study finds antibody differences | Ars Technica

"Both vaccines generate strong levels of neutralizing antibodies, which can bind to the virus and prevent it from infecting cells.

But according to the study, the vaccines generated different antibody profiles overall. Specifically, the antibody response to the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine skewed to a class of antibodies called IgG and IgM, which are often found in the blood. The

Moderna vaccine, meanwhile, generated relatively elevated levels of IgA antibodies, a class of antibodies generally found on mucosal surfaces, such as the respiratory tract—where SARS-CoV-2 infections begin.

Additionally, the Moderna vaccine spurred relatively higher levels of antibodies that activate immune cells called natural killer cells. It also generated higher levels of antibodies that activate immune cells called neutrophils to ingest and kill (phagocytize) invading germs."

Good to know about the Moderna vaccine. Even early on, Moderna had a higher real life efficacy than Pfizer.

A little off point here but I wonder how they knew to put 4 boxes on the card to check off from the start.

Most vaccines require boosters so It was never a question in my mind that boosters would be necessary for the Covid vaccine. The manufacturers are certainly smarter than me so those extra spaces were predetermined.

My dance card if full now. I guess when I get the next booster, I will need a new card.

I don't like it at all. I stopped posting for a while and took a break for a long time from all Social Media. When I returned many of the people that I was friendly with are not here on the forum anymore. I hope it's because of their personal choice and not that they were driven away by having their posts questioned and by being ridiculed.

It just hit me that some people who were catered to when they were new are so rough on the newer people coming on board. :ohdear:

Covid-19 Booster

It was a miserable night. Today, I am weak as a cat, but otherwise I am okay. Like most of us, I do not like wearing a mask, but if wearing one will keep a toddler or frail elderly person from getting sick, I will wear the damn thing. I am not that selfish. I understand wearing a mask might be ineffectual, but still, I will wear it for the good of those around me

I am very allergic to the Covid-19 booster. Broke out hives and was sick after taking the third shot. No more for me.

MDLNB 04-23-2022 11:03 AM

I don't see the point. Some say "I'm getting my Xth booster shot and I am happy because I am saved." Others say "Not me, I ain't a gonna get no poison put in me!" Hey, ain't living in a FREE country GREAT? We can make decisions for ourselves (still).
In an earlier post I said I have my two vaccination shots, caught the covid and have put off getting my booster for now. Right or wrong, it's my decision. I haven't had a Flu shot in 50 years, but haven't caught the Flu yet. Maybe I will catch the Flu some day and I will make a decision then whether or not I want to get the shot. I've had covid and it was very mild, less effective than a common cold on me. Like I said before, I wasn't yet a candidate for the booster at the time I was infected. Now, I don't see a reason for ME to get the booster. Maybe I am wrong. I know there is very little chance that the vaccine would cause me any problems, but now I don't see any more reason to get multiple boosters than getting multiple Flu shots. Unlike others, I do not and will not attempt to convince anyone else to get or not to get the vaccination or boosters. I don't do that for the FLU shot either.
I only wear the mask when I go to a medical facility, other than when I had covid. I do not insist that anyone else wear a mask and do not care if they do not wear a mask. I do not feel that anyone is being selfish or unpatriotic if they refuse to wear a mask. I feel that they are exercising their rights. But, the OP was about how ILL the booster made the poster. I've heard that some folks felt nothing and had no reaction and I have heard that they had become really, really ill from the vaccination. Others were telling those that suffered how lucky they were because it showed that the vaccination was working. Is that true? Does that mean that some that don't feel a reaction mean that they are not protected? Or, are does that mean that saying it is a good thing to feel bad after a vaccination, just to make them feel better for getting the shot? Just curious.
I think that I will wait to see how things go before deciding to get boosters. My second Moderna shot made me feel worse than when I had the covid, so I am a bit leery about how the booster might make me feel. I don't usually go out of my way to make myself feel bad. Another reason I don't drink alcohol to get drunk. I don't like hangovers.
It's good that you related your experience of the vaccination reaction to us. Your sharing your reaction with us made me feel better about putting off getting a booster until I learn more. I know of one friend that had no reaction to the booster shot and never had the covid, but now is worried that they might have blood clots. They are going to the doctors for more testing to see what their circulation problem might be caused by. I hope it wasn't from the vaccination.
