Critters in outside grill?!

Keep the grease pan clean. Rats and mice love it.

We have found small turds inside our outside gas grill on the bottom pan. I presume they are from mice or rats. Does anyone have recommendations on how to keep these critters out? (I don't want to roll the grill inside after each use).

We had mice in our grill in North Carolina and a little green frog took up residence under our grill here. We read where if you put a bar of Irish Spring in the grill, they leave. It worked in NC, but we left the little frog alone here. He eventually left without intervention. Try the soap.

When you light the grill, it will be sterilized before it is hot enough to put food on it. So don’t worry about it.

These are too large to be lizard droppings. They are bigger than a half an inch long.
Mothballs have not deterred them.

Critters in grill

Up north I had raccoons under shed and deck. Toss some moth balls under it and never had a problem. It worked when I had a nest of squirrels built in my grill. The Oder keeps them away.

Rats

Maybe frog turds?

My knome ran away, and doesn’t have his medicine for his IBS. If you see him, tell him to come home.

Dewilson58 made a great point clean your grill! I was going to say put rat poison like the kind that’s in a tray in the bottom of your grill but that would of been a dumb idea on my part. Mice or rats probably can smell the grease & food particles in your grill. Excellent idea, clean the grates & the bottom of your grill box!

Only keep the grill outside for cooking, and after it cools bring inside lanai or birdcage. Screens are designed to keep these pests OUTSIDE! But on the other hand, if you continue to want this problem, leave it outside, or give up grilling.

I would worry that your neighbors don't like you much and leave you samples.

These could be lizard turds! Lizard turds look like rat turds, except that they have a white spot on the end of them.. If so, not much you can do other than move away from Florida...If all black they belong to rats. Many of the local pest control companies can help trap them.. Do you have a bird feeder set up? If so take it DOWN, especially at night time.. I learned this the hard way myself and have had both rat and possum problems.. I love feeding birds, but then all the other critters feast on the bird food at night! Good luck with all that.
