I've had milk go sour just a couple times in the last several years. I try to finish it on or around the 2 week expire date. But the last time, several months ago, I had milk go bad 2 days after the date. I always buy the 1% great value walmart brand. Never had this brand go bad on me within the dates. The publix and wd milk is too expensive so I stick with the cheaper more reliable brand. I don't ever need to deal with how cold the fridge is, it's that way when I move in and has needed no adjusting. If the milk is cold it's working as intended. If it's got a few little icicles it's too cold. Never had it be too warm.

Stay out of my refrigerator! 😱

Something is wrong with the circumstances of your post. Milk being sold today may have a late Dec expiration date, but I have never seen it with an expiration date of more than a month i.e. Jan 23.

The fact that that same date shows up on each of your half gallon containers of half and half would seem unlikely. Didn't know that you could even buy a half gallon of half and half. When you say went bad, it sounds like you had it for a while before that happened. The Jan 23 date 3 times seems unusual.

Take a look at Fairlife.

Did you store the milk in the door of your fridge? I had trouble until I moved the milk to the top shelf. No more spoiled milk.

I’ve never seen a milk cartoon in a store with expiration date over 30 days maybe coffee creamer.

Totally agree if it's regular milk. Maybe 14 days and that's really stretching it.

No issues with milk/cream spoilage at this point. Like others have said, I also recommend laying it down on a lower shelf since door is known to be warmer.

I replaced it with a half gallon of Winn Dixie half & half with a Jan 23 expiration date and it went bad!!! This has never happened to me before. What the heck is going on? Is anyone else experiencing this?

We first noted that problem about 2 yrs ago when we lived in South Fla. Only suggestion I have is to keep your receipt, if it's spoiled when you open it, take it back.

Expiry date is good if the milk isn’t opened. Once you open it the expiry date becomes meaningless and you become the judge for how long it lasts. Nothing wrong with milk just taking you too long to use it up.

So what did you do with your Samsung frig & how long did you use it when it didn’t get cold? Did you complain to Samsung & what did they do if anything?

We have had the same problem for a year or more. First though it was the fridge, then stopped buying Walmart milk, then moved it into smaller containers and froze it. It still goes off. It has to be in the storage before we buy it we think.

The wife likes her half and half . She currently has 1/2 gal of Publix half and half with an expiration date of Feb. 07

Same with a second unopened container…..

OhioBuckeye 12-22-2022 09:55 AM

I know that’s true, but I understand what happens when it’s in air. You made a good point!

OhioBuckeye 12-22-2022 09:56 AM

LOL, that’s called a milk shake!

JEM0715 12-22-2022 12:17 PM

Put a thermometer in your refrigerator, should read 37* deg. Sounds more like your refrigerator isn't cooling properly and needs service. Try A & E (Sears), reliable and honest.

Jerry jordan 12-22-2022 08:27 PM

Yes 2 times now had bad half and half from Walmart long before expiration.
