I think that has always been the norm. Some people who want to move and have visited TV and the majority who live here! There are a few who frequent this site, who don't live here and don't want to live here! There are some who have visited and want to move here and can't at the moment, so they stay in touch about what is happening, by visiting TOTV.

TOTV is a great site for those needing info. If one invest time and the energy to read almost everything, the will have sufficient info to make an informed decision.

On the other hand, TV can't be described no matter how many words one uses. A visit is required for those who want to move here, to really believe it is as good as most posters, say it is.

It's not perfect, but awfully close. IMHO

I love all the chatter on this site. Since I am a few years out I want to gather all the facts and insights from all the current and wannabee posters.

Most of my posts are centered about what I consider facts as I plan my retirement. Whether it is golfing in 95 degree weather, dog poops, chair saving I want to learn all about life in the bubble.

So I for one wouldn't miss checking out this site every /every other day. It just helps me understand what my life may be when I move down as I still live less than 15 miles from where I was raised.

I think most of the replies have come from people who intend to live here at some point.
But I think you are looking for an explanation of why people with no interest in moving to The Villages join and post on TOTV.
I agree with Redwitch's explanation:

"Some because they join every blog they can find. Some moved out but want to stay in touch. Some, sadly, because they're trolls or trolls in the making. That is, if they have a chance to say something bad about TV, can hurt another's feelings or stir up the pot, they've made their day. "

I think it's like Facebook, people join because they can.
Also, I've noticed a lot of people post mainly to sell items, since there is no Craigslist or Kijiji specifically for residents of The Villages.

I am checking out TV and trying to find some place to move to and retire. I'm planning on a visit in September. I do have relatives in TV.

How does it work? Do you people identify where they live or does TOTV know from where the sending computer resides?

On the right hand side of our posts, it will say where we live if we want. Mine says the Village of BonnyBrook. Yours doesn't say.

:agree:

You may not get everything you want in your home but then, one does not spend a whole lot of time in their home, if they are constantly on the go.

Your right, "it's all about the lifestyle".

A condo plumber in CT informed me his parents, moved to TV. I asked him what were they into, in terms of activities, and he replied, "they stay in their house and eat".

I couldn't help wondering, "they could have done that, in a house, in CT", but that's me.
